Stetson University’s School of Business Administration was the very first university in Florida to offer business education dating back to 1897. With a rich history packed with experience, wisdom, adaptability, and improvement, business students are assured of receiving excellence in every AACSB-accredited degree program. Students grow to value innovation, engagement, professionalism, diversity, integrity, and ethical perspective. The School utilizes the faculty, staff, and leaders of the academic and professional communities to present relevant ideas, strategies, and feedback to impact the educational process to prepare graduates for career success in any industry adequately.

Education

The Bachelors in Business Administration degree provides a wide variety of majors. Students can major in Professional Sales, Management, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Business Systems & Analytics, Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, Family Enterprise Management, Economics, and Accounting. Masters degrees are offered online.

The expense of college can be daunting, and Stetson provides or has access to an enormous amount of scholarships business students can apply for like the J. Ollie Edmunds Distinguished Scholarship and the Donor-Funded Scholarships.

A considerable part of the educational journey is gaining a global perspective and international insight into global business and learning about different cultures. These experiences can help prepare students to handle global situations in their future careers. Current trips for business students are to China; Hong Kong; Innsbruck, Austria; Inverness, United Kingdom; and Seoul, South Korea. The Global Awareness Study Abroad Fund and the Ken Ziesenheim Endowed Scholarship help cover the financial cost for business students to study abroad.

Student Life

A wide variety of academic, social, particular interest, recreational, and service-oriented student organizations can offer social and professional connections and leadership opportunities. Some examples of these groups include Alpha Kappa Psi, the American Marketing Association, Circle K International, College Democrats, Environmental Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Global Brigades, Music Group, Student Ambassadors, Stetson Chess Association, Toastmasters, and Young Americans for Freedom.

Every business student is required to complete two activities that suffice as the Experiential Learning Requirement (ELR). It has to be an opportunity to apply learned material in a real-world situation. The most encouraged ELR is an academic internship. Other options include campus leadership positions, global and community engagement, and life experience in owning or running a business or full-time employment. An ELR can consist of participation in one of the many Business Competition Teams like the Stock Pitch, Sales, or Business Ethics Case Competitions. The Leadership Education & Development office provides events and experiences where students can apply and grow in leadership skills and learn about social responsibility. LEAD opportunities include the First-Year Leadership Experience, Emerging Leaders Program, Students Leadership in Community Engagement, and the Leadership Summit.

Online Programs

Graduate-level degrees are offered entirely online and provide the same quality standard education as traditional degree programs with added flexibility. The online Masters in Business Administration in Accounting comes with an optional specialization in Tax. There is an online Flex MBA for Professionals and an online MBA/Masters in Healthcare Administration dual degree.
