Spalding University is a private, Roman Catholic college, offering superior business programs through the School of Business. The SoB has received specialized accreditation through the IACBE. Students thrive in the inclusive community at Spalding and are able to start serving and gaining real-world experience from their first days on campus. The average class size is just 12 students, so students form strong connections with their classmates. The retention rate and job placement rate for all business programs for the 2018-2019 school year were at least 89%. Tuition expenses at this exceptional school are offset by financial aid awarded to 98% of students.

Education

The BS in Business Administration offers options in Financial Planning, General, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Sports Management. Students work on hands-on case studies, have professional guests attend classes, and complete group projects. Classes are offered in six-week blocks, and evening classes are available to accommodate students who are employed full-time. The innovative block schedule allows students to be fully immersed in one or two classes at a time. Classes generally meet 100 minutes daily for four days per week. This allows students plenty of time to complete an internship or work. In between each block, students have a week-long break. These breaks can provide a chance to refresh with a vacation or trip home before diving into the next course. Seven six-week sessions are offered throughout the year, so it’s possible for students to graduate in fewer than four years.

Student Life

With flexible schedules, students have more time to pursue their passions outside of the classroom. Career Services can help students prepare for a part-time job through job search assistance, professional workshops, mock interviews, networking opportunities, and resume reviews. There are more than 25 organizations, so students can find their tribe and hold a leadership role. The family-like atmosphere at Spalding also gives students opportunities to mingle with classmates and professors in informal settings.

Spalding partners with study abroad programs to bring a variety of international adventures to students. Sophomores and juniors have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend a semester in Ireland with free tuition. The six-week block schedule also works great for students who are looking for shorter programs. Other destinations students can study in include Belize, England, Jamaica, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

Online Programs

Undergraduate students who are eager to enter the workforce quickly can earn an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration fully online. The curriculum for this career-readiness program consists of coursework in accounting, finance, management, and marketing. BSBA students also have the option of completing their degree through distance education, allowing students to maintain a work/life/school balance.

Graduate students can elevate their career path by earning an online Master of Science in Business Communication. This degree can be customized with a concentration in Accounting, Healthcare Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, or Sports Management. As an undergraduate, students can gain early acceptance to this program and earn nine-credit hours prior to graduating. This 33-credit hour program can be completed in as few as ten months.
