Education

Small class sizes enable students to focus and receive personal attention from professors and staff. Those pursuing a Bachelors degree can major in Business Administration; Global Development Studies; Politics, Philosophy, & Economics; Accounting; Economics; or Political Science. The BBA provides optional concentrations in Finance, International Business, Marketing, Social Enterprise, Economics, Information Systems, Management, or Public Policy & Business.

Graduate students can obtain a Masters in Data Analytics in Business; Information Systems; Management with emphasis options in Human Resources, Faith & Business, or Cybersecurity; or Business Administration with emphasis options in Cybersecurity, Finance, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, Human Resources Management, or Management.

SBGE students have specific scholarships available to them, including the Truman Scholarship Competition and the Institute for Humane Studies Scholarships. Business students can also benefit from the over $100 million in financial assistance that SPU gives out each year.

For a life-changing adventure, a chance to engage with a different culture and gain international business exposure, students can participate in faculty-led, partner, and non-SPU study abroad programs in locations all over the world, including Jordan, Spain, Scotland, Ireland, Morocco, France, and England.

Student Life

Whether or not students get involved in clubs or organizations on campus makes a huge difference to the success of a student. Student organizations include BEGIN (Build, Engage, Give, Inspire, Nurture), Beta Alpha Psi, Political Union, Global Development Association, Rotaract, Student Investment Fund, Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Epsilon, and Pi Sigma Alpha.

Being located in the heart of Seattle, SBGE students develop significant connections with leading professional organizations like Microsoft, Boeing, Merrill Lynch, the Washington State Capitol, and Starbucks to network and intern with and potentially secure future employment. Some majors require an internship, and it is highly recommended for every student to complete at least one to gain relevant skills, explore potential careers, and enhance their resume.

The Center for Applied Learning offers programs and activities that build confidence and give students a chance to put their faith into action and help change the world. At the Center, students apply what they have learned in the classroom through hands-on experiential learning activities. It is home to the Innovation Lab, Entrepreneurship Programs, the Mentor Program, the Social Venture Plan Competition, and the SPU Launch Fund. The SBGE’s Center for Integrity in Business focuses on helping business leaders integrate work with their faith in God and how to serve God through their business ventures best. This Center hosts workshops and seminars on faith integration, a Day of Calling, attendance at conferences like Business as Mission, and continuing education classes.
