
Business students interested in the programs of study at Oakland City University’s School of Business will develop competencies that give them the tools to be successful in graduate school and beyond. The School of Business is committed to shaping students for careers in many fields, including human resources, general management, accounting, marketing, and education. In today’s global market, the business professional today must be capable of dealing with the business enterprise on an international scale. Functioning with colleagues in a “team-oriented” atmosphere is a skill that the School of Business’ students learn in its competency-based programs. A variety of specializations and degree options are available. A primary purpose of the faculty and staff of the School of Business is to guide, encourage, and mentor students so that they may gain the ability to think and act critically in business. The school gives students opportunities to experience internships in business and industry. The International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), situated in Olathe, Kansas, grants Oakland City University with its specialized accreditation for its business programs.
Education
The School of Business’ mission is to create and maintain a faith-based learning environment which focuses on preparing degree graduates with the modern knowledge and skills necessary to be a significant factor in a business enterprise. A student enrolled in the School of Business can expect an education that stresses an emphasis on life-long intellectual learning, cultural diversity, ethical and moral conduct, social development, and cooperative teamwork for positive growth and leadership.
At the undergraduate level, the business school delivers degrees in Business Administration and Operations Management. The Business Administration program features concentrations in Sports Administration, Secondary Education, Marketing, Accounting, Management, and Human Resource Management. Students seeking an Associate degree may also look into the business school’s Accounting and Business Administration program. Students may also choose to minor in Accounting or Business. The graduate degrees currently offered at the business school include a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science. The Master of Science can also be paired with Leadership, Strategic Management: Logistics & Product Distribution, Strategic Management: Quality Systems, Strategic Management, and Criminal Justice Administration.
Student Life
Oakland City University currently employs a Director of Student Life whose primary responsibility is to ensure all students at the university have access to the excellent student experience. The Director of Student Life is Bradley R. Knotts. Bradley oversees several departments outside of academia and is well connected to student clubs and organizations throughout the campus and community. The Student Life department exists to give students access to a variety of programs, services, and opportunities for growth and development on a multitude of levels. Bradley’s number is available to all students seeking guidance and advice on making their time at Oakland City social and meaningful.

OCU is a Christian university that integrates a strong emphasis on morals and ethics within its Associate, undergraduate, and graduate online degrees. The business school at OCU offers a BS in Business Administration program and a popular online MBA. Distance learners who earn one of OCU’s online business management degrees will gain a valuable overview of key business disciplines and can select a concentration to ensure their academic experience aligns with their chosen professional path.
