The incredibly intelligent and hard-working Huizenga himself led three Fortune 500 companies, so to honor him, the School provides excellence in curricula and faculty members who are top-of-the-line in experience, research, mentorship, and teaching ability. This IACBE-accredited “Business Program with an Edge” serves over 3,000 students.

Education

From learning how to run a business, investments, and the ins and outs of the financial economy to understanding the behavior of consumers and preparing to climb the ladder of corporate America, HSBE programs teach it all. Undergraduate degrees of study include a Bachelors in Business Administration in Finance, Accounting, Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Sport & Recreation Management. Graduate degrees include a Masters in Real Estate Development, a Masters in Public Administration, Masters in Business Administration, and a Masters in Accounting with concentrations in Managerial, Public, or Taxation Accounting. MPA concentrations include Criminal Justice, Non-Profit/Non-Governmental Organizations, and State & Local Administration. There are 12 MBA concentrations, including Business Intelligence/Analytics, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Process Improvement, Complex Health Systems, and Sports Revenue Generation.

For an international study abroad experience, Nova has partnered with several different organizations that connect students with the best global experience possible, from two-weeks to year-long programs. In the heart of rewarding excellence, HCBE provides a variety of scholarship opportunities for business students, including the Michael J. Giordano Promising Leaders Scholarship, Graduate Business Student Tuition Award, and the High School Business Club Award.

Student Life

Business students can engage in student organizations like the American Marketing Association, Alpha Kappa Psi, Accounting Club, Great Minds: Entrepreneurship Club, The Investment Club, Business of Students Sports Association, Undergraduate Economics and Finance Association, Graduate Business Student Association, and Real Estate Development Student Association. Along with these groups, there are countless other opportunities for students to experience learning. With over 100 corporate partnerships, HSBE can bring in top executives to speak with students in the Distinguished Lecture Series and Executives in Residence programs. These connections also help students build their professional network that can lead to important internships and potential job opportunities.

Qualifying students can participate in the Razor’s Edge Shark Cage Scholars Program or the Huizenga Business Innovation Academy. Shark Cage is set up similarly to the “Shark Tank” TV show. Through mentorship, training, networking, service projects, leadership-building initiatives, and an award of $22,000, students will create, start, manage, and implement a business plan. The Academy also has an entrepreneurial focus and is an intensive, competitive, accelerated program where students complete their bachelors and masters degrees in only four years, receive an $18,000 scholarship, and $20,000 towards their own start-up business once the program is complete.
