Additionally, this program has consistently been ranked among the nation’s best for 32 years by U.S. News and World Report and continued to meet that high standard as of the 2019 edition. They have also ranked the part-time MBA among the best for the past five years. The EMBA and Evening MBA were ranked among the top tier of global MBA programs by CEO Magazine in 2018.

According to the 2016 Businessweek publishing, students are also extremely satisfied with the business programs through the CoB. The majority of students also receive scholarships, with 487 scholarships totaling over $805,000 distributed during the 2018-2019 school year.

Education

The award-winning undergraduate programs include a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Operations Management and Information Systems. Additional minors include Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, and Business Analytics. Students can also enhance their degree by earning a certificate in Professional Selling, Digital Marketing, Retail Management, Information Systems, Enterprise Management Using SAP Software, or Business Analytics Using SAS Software.

The MBA program provides students with the practical tools and networking opportunities they need to advance their careers. The Twelve-Month MBA meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Chicago. The rigorous curriculum and format of the EMBA are designed for experienced professionals, with classes only meeting on Saturdays. Both of these MBA programs offer students the opportunity to participate in study abroad.

The Global MBA is the ideal program for students interested in a more extensive international business program. In this program, students have the option of completing two three-week immersion experiences in Italy, and to earn an MBA from NIU and an International Management degree from Sapienza University.

Student Life

The unique Business Passport program provides students with a journey to seven business continents: Career, Communications, Ethics, Experiential Learning, Global, Leadership, and Service. Students can graduate with a full passport if they attend a career fair, give a presentation, learn about ethical dilemmas during a workshop, complete an internship, study abroad, serve as a leader in an organization, and volunteer. Completing five or more events in four or more continents will earn students’ special cords to wear at graduation. A passport transcript with all of the students’ experiences will also be given to students, and make students more competitive in the job search process. Students can live with their classmates in the Business Careers House, and get involved in one of the many business organizations, such as Beta Gamma Sigma, CEO, or Women in Business Professions.

Online Programs

Time is valuable, but earning a degree can increase your value to employers. That’s why the CoB offers a flexible B.S. in Marketing and an MBA program that can be completed 100% online. Students can earn an online MBA in as few as 16 months or take up to six years.
