Education

Undergraduate students can chase after their dreams with a customizable Bachelor of Science in Management, Marketing, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or Accounting. Accounting majors have built-in electives, which can be applied towards courses in Advanced Financial Accounting, Theory, or Not-for-Profit Accounting/Auditing.

Students will meet the requirement to sit for the Certified Management Accountant, Public Accountant, or Internal Auditor professional exams. Business Administration offers a General Business, Multinational Business, or Pre-Law concentration, and an optional Economics minor. The CIS program features concentrations in Computer Science Business Applications or Business Data Analytics. Finance students can enhance their degree with a Financial Services Marketing concentration. Management students can tailor their degree to fit their goals with a concentration in Human Resources or Maritime, and the Marketing degree offers options in Professional Sales or Advertising. Undergraduate students can get a jumpstart on their MBA during the last 12 hours of their degree.

Business professionals can stay abreast of the latest business developments by earning an Evening MBA or Executive MBA. These programs are designed to turn ambitious employees into savvy business leaders. The curriculum is comprised of courses in three distinct modules: The Language and Tools of Business Analysis; Understanding Organizational Processes, Markets, and Employees; and Achieving Competitive Success. Classes for the evening program meet one night per week from 6-9 PM, and EMBA classes are held on Saturdays from 8 AM-5 PM for five to seven weeks per course. Students in the EMBA and full-time MBA can graduate in 18 months, and students who enroll part-time can finish in as little as two years.

Student Life

Students can expand their academic and professional networks by joining the Accounting and Finance Club, Pre-law Society, Society for Human Resource Management, Information Systems Club, Student Government Association, or the University Honors Program. The Colonel Job Shadowing program allows students to shadow a professional for a day to gain insight into business careers. The Business Closet provides students with professional attire for internships. Students complete internships at a variety of public and private regional organizations. Guest speakers also visit the campus to enhance the overall student learning experience.

Online Programs

Nicholls Online allows students to complete their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from anywhere in the world. All classes are offered in accelerated eight-week sessions. Students who are interested in expanding their business knowledge in a shorter time span may complete the 18-credit hour Post Baccalaureate Certification in Applied Business. Online resources available to ensure students’ success include tutoring, counseling, and access to the Ellender Library. All exams are administered online via ProctorU.
