Many generous donors help make various levels of scholarships possible for students. Students are able to meet these wonderful individuals at an annual luncheon.

Education

The SoB offers a diverse range of undergraduate majors, including Accounting, Criminal Justice, Data Analytics, Finance, Information Technology, Management, Management Info Systems, Marketing, and Sociology. Experiential learning opportunities, such as mock crime scene investigations, website development, and practice using business software, place students at an advantage when seeking their first job. Students can earn academic credits for their involvement in experiential learning by submitting a detailed portfolio with work samples, a resume, letters of verification from supervisors, and other relevant materials. Seniors also complete a Capstone project in a small group with students from various majors to resemble a real-world office setting. The findings from this collaborative assignment are presented at Scholars Day prior to graduation.

Student Life

The entire Newman campus has an annual enrollment of roughly 3,300 students. Students can hone in on their leadership skills by participating in the Hispanic-American Leadership Organization, Student Government Association, or the Multicultural Leadership Organization. The Student Alumni Boards helps current students connect with graduates of the University. These relationships can be very beneficial by providing students with mentors and professional networking opportunities.

The Justice League takes field trips to correctional institutions, fundraises for social services, and meets with leaders in the criminal justice field. The Business Speaker Series and Table Talks with Alumni give students a chance to engage in thought-provoking discussions with real business leaders. The Runway Learning Center hosts career development workshops and links students to co-op programs, internships, and work-study opportunities.

Online Programs

In order to stand out in the employment pool of candidates, it is more important than ever to have a degree. If a traditional classroom schedule doesn’t work with your lifestyle, you can earn an online degree from the SoB. Undergraduate online options include Business Analytics, Interdisciplinary Studies, Organizational Leadership, and Business and Strategic Intelligence.

Four Master of Business Administration degrees are offered through distance learning, so students can acquire advanced knowledge in the field they’re planning to work in. Options are available in Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Leadership, and Management. The curriculum involves eight core courses and four concentration courses. All MBA programs are 36-credit hours and can be completed in approximately one to two years. Classes are offered in eight-week sessions, and students may start at any time. Students have the ability to take some of their classes on campus. Students who have already earned college credits from a community college may be eligible for the community college transfer scholarship.
