The School of Business, Media, and Technology at New Mexico Highlands University combines liberal arts and the sciences to create a comprehensive education that prepares students to succeed in a variety of industries. It strives to provide a learning environment where students are inspired to be critical thinkers, creative, diverse, innovative, and respectful. With small class sizes, personal attention from professors, challenging coursework, and hands-on learning opportunities, students graduate with a high level of marketability.

Education

The Department of Business Administration develops confident and ethical business leaders. It is ACBSP accredited and offers an excellent Bachelors in Business Administration degree program. BBA areas of concentration include Entrepreneurship, General Business, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Management, and Media Marketing. To further prepare for leadership roles in a variety of professional organizations, a student can pursue a Masters in Business Administration. Optional MBA concentrations are in Entrepreneurship, Accounting, International Business, Finance, Human Resources Management, Marketing, and Management. There is also a dual Masters in Business and Social Work degree option. Through these degree programs, students will receive a strong business foundation, leadership development, and will be empowered to transform the world on a global scale.

As the cost of obtaining a higher education continues to rise, more and more people require financial aid to pursue a degree. The University provides scholarships for first-year students, undergraduates, graduates, New Mexico residents, out-of-state residents, and transfer students. Other forms of financial assistance are grants, loans, and student employment, including work-study and graduate assistantships.

Student Life

The Office of Campus Life provides an environment supportive of social, mental, physical, educational, and personal development through event planning and campus activities. Business, social, religious, professional, cultural, and recreational student organizations include ALPFA, Art Club, Catholic Cowboy Newman Club, Fire Escape Bible Club, Game Nights Club, International Service Group, Disc Golf Club, Native American Club, Society for Human Resources Management, and the National Society of Leadership + Success. As the focus is to set students up for success, Career services serve current students and alumni in discovering, finding, and preparing for a future career. Offerings include career fairs, career planning, job searches, resume writing tools, interview prep, locating internships and co-ops, workshops, and personal coaching to help students reach their most significant potential and find great success.

There are plenty of experiential learning opportunities that exist throughout the business degree programs where students can immediately apply what they have learned. Whether it is the Business Ethics Workshop, the Ethics Competition, interning with an established business entity, volunteering to help others, or serving the local business community, business students gain priceless experiences while earning their degree.

Online Programs

To help working professionals or anyone that cannot attend classes in person be able to earn a graduate degree, the Department of Business Administration offers an entirely online MBA program with all of its concentration options.
