
The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship (Jabs) at Montana State University exists to provide excellence in educating undergraduate and select graduate business students. The business school strives to inspire creativity, growth, and innovation. The College is committed to fostering an integrated, personalized, and experiential learning environment while encouraging critical thinking, social responsibility, quantitative reasoning, ethical decision making, effective communication, and life-long learning. The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship has made a commitment to the teacher-scholar model in which staff members are simultaneously engaged in research and teaching. The College provides outreach and service to its stakeholders in keeping with this perspective of the University’s land-grant mission.
The business school at Montana State University takes pride in providing a locally revered and nationally recognized business learning environment for undergraduate students and in select areas of graduate student education. The programs of study are distinguished by the personalized attention offered to students, a contemporary and integrated curriculum, and the dedication of the staff to creating a unique classroom environment and providing career opportunities for graduates.
Education
The business school provides undergraduate students with majors in Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing. Graduate students can choose the Master of Professional Accountancy. The MPAc program has been designed to prepare students for substantial careers in the field of accounting. When students enter the program, they will have the opportunity to work closely with a nationally recognized accounting and business faculty while utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Working closely with the assistance of the Director of the MPAc program, graduate students will create a graduate program that will fuse their educational background with their chosen areas of interest.
Student Life
The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship offers a variety of opportunities for business students to develop their professional abilities outside of the classroom. The College has many student organizations where students can build upon their business curriculum and build meaning meaningful relationships. Organizations include the American Indigenous Business Leaders (AIBL), American Marketing Association (AMA) at Montana State, Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting Club), Enactus/Social Impact Club, Finance Club, International Business Club (IBC), Management & HR Club, and Toastmasters (MSU chapter).
Online Programs
While Montana State University’s business school does not currently offer an online degree, there are several opportunities for students outside the business school to take advantage of. A Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and an Undergraduate Certificate in Gerontology are available to bachelor’s students.
Grad students may be interested in a Certificate in Addiction Counseling, Master of Science in Agricultural Education, Master of Science in Family Financial Planning, and a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction. A Master of Science with focus choices of Mathematics Education, Science Education, and Land Resources & Environmental Sciences is also available. Graduate Certificates in School Library Media, Native American Studies, and the School Superintendent Program are also presented by the University through Montana State Online.
