Mohawk Valley Community College “provides accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. They are the community’s college, committed to student success through partnerships, transfer and career pathways, and personal enrichment.” MVCC serves more than 7,000 students each semester but offers small class sizes with a 20:1 student to faculty ratio. The College holds regional accreditation from the MSCHE. It supports students in a variety of ways, including dual credit programs, certificate programs, associate degrees, and more.

Student Life
Making college affordable and accessible to all is a priority at MVCC. In addition to financial counseling services, there are many scholarship options through the college, as well as the School of Business itself. Many students may also qualify for the Excelsior Scholarship, which allows New York residents whose family adjusted gross income does not exceed $110,000 to attend Mohawk Valley tuition-free as long as they complete 30 credits per year. This program is the first of its kind in the nation and offers unprecedented support for those working towards completing their degree.
The Learning Commons provides a comfortable space for students to come together for holistic tutoring, computer labs, research assistance, and collaborative learning spaces. The Math Lab offers peer and professional tutoring services to help students with all levels of mathematics, and the Writing Lab walks them through everything from research papers to resumes.
While they are a community, a college Mohawk Valley does offer on-campus housing. They also host a variety of athletic teams in baseball, basketball, golf, cross country, tennis, soccer, and more. Students can build friendships through clubs like Dive Club, Droids, Fishing Club, International Club, or Ski Club. Activities are frequently held on-campus and include such events at the award-winning MVCC cultural series. The Program Board and Student Congress offer a great way for students to get involved in leadership roles and have a positive impact on campus culture.
