Craig School of Business at Missouri Western State University’s mission is to provide programs with applied and engaging educational opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. The Craig School is committed to professional and scholarly activities that predominantly center on teaching, applied research, and learning. Education
Majors offered by the business school include Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. The Missouri Western MBA program is an AACSB accredited professional degree program that offers students of many educational and professional backgrounds a broad degree in business that will launch or advance their business leadership careers. The program focuses on applied academic learning that develops a student’s decision making and analytical abilities. The Steven L. Craig School of Business has both onsite and online MBA course completion options. The MBA program includes courses covering the gamut of business disciplines like accounting, management, finance, and marketing. The MBA program is designed to accommodate working professionals interested in advancing their careers.
Student Life
The business school features the Center for Entrepreneurship and the Center for Franchise Development that gives students hands-on experience and excellent social opportunities outside of the classroom. The Center for Entrepreneurship has been designed to train, mentor, and support entrepreneurs and business owners, in and outside the St. Joseph area. Whether a business is new, new to the area, or just trying something new, the Center can help. Missouri Western’s unique working relationship with Steven L. Craig, CEO of Craig Realty Group, and other franchisors has enabled the business school the chance to create opportunities for students and alumni to own a franchise. The program has franchise opportunities with successful brands like Auntie Anne’s, Flip Flop Shops, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and Which Wich Superior Sandwiches. Since its start in 2009, graduates of the program have opened over 30 stores across the country.
Online Programs
The Missouri Western online MBA is a part-time and professional graduate program where students have the option of taking up to four classes per semester in two eight-week terms. The MBA is 100% online and consists of eight-week terms, which offers full-time students the chance to complete the program in just 12 months. Online courses include Foundations of Finance and Accounting, Organizational Theory, Contemporary Issues in Management, Applied Strategic Marketing, Business Intelligence and Analytics, and Supply Chain and Customer Relationship Management.
