
The College of Business at Misericordia University believes that the knowledge and experience gained while obtaining a business degree can be beneficial to a broad range of industries and life pursuits. Education
Those interested in a Bachelors degree can major in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology, Healthcare Management, Sport Management, Mass Communications, and Design, or Professional Studies. The BBA specializations include Marketing, General Business, Management Information Systems, Management, Pre-DPT Health Care Management, and Pre-DPT Sport Management. IT students can specialize in IT Security. Graduate coursework consists of a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Organizational Management, both with specializations in Management, Human Resource Management, Sport Management, and Healthcare Management.
The CoB also houses the Center for Adult and Continuing Education. Students have access to financial aid anywhere from grants and loans to work-study and options of part-time jobs. Scholarships exist for qualifying students like The Sister Mary Glennon ’62 Full-Tuition Scholarship, Non-Pennsylvania Resident Grant, and the Newcombe Scholarship. An incredible opportunity to extend the educational experience overseas lies in the Study Abroad-Away Program. Locations include England, Jamaica, Australia, Ireland, Italy, France, and Guyana.
Student Life
In continuation of the academic growth that happens in the classroom, students are encouraged to engage in extra-curricular activities. Growing in leadership skills, responsibility for the community, and social awareness is highly beneficial to the overall educational experience. Some activities include Family Weekend, Harvest Ball, and New York City Trips. For outdoor adventure, team building, and recreational activities, students can participate in the SOAR Program. Business students can benefit from student organizations like the Business Professional Association, Healthcare Management Club, Sport Management Club, Operation Smile, Ski and Snowboard Club, Circle K, and Campus Peer Advocates.
Service Learning is a way for students to immediately apply what they are learning in a hands-on environment with faculty, staff, and university partners while making a positive impact on the campus, community, and the world. Students can do things like tutor kids, assist the elderly, work on marketing ads for companies, and community center renovations. The Internship Program helps provide resources for, prepare for, and connect students with life-changing internship opportunities that help prepare them to pursue their career aspirations. Business students have access to the Insalaco Center for Career Development makes a comprehensive effort to set students on the right career path, create goals, and assist them the entire way through to graduation and beyond.
Online Programs
Business programs that are offered either entirely online or mostly online are the Bachelors in Accounting, Business Administration, Health Care Management, Information Technology, and Professional Studies. For graduate students, there is an online Masters in Organizational Management and an online MBA with all of the specializations except Sport Management.
