Millsaps College is a liberal arts college in the heart of Jackson, Mississippi. The University has under 1,000 undergraduate students and only 75 graduate students, making it the perfect setting for an intimate academic experience. The business programs at Millsaps are AACSB accredited, placing them in the top five percent of business schools worldwide. Millsaps is dedicated to excellence in academics and prides itself on their ethical heritage that promotes freedom of thought, social justice, and reflection of life’s most important questions.

Education

Undergraduates have the majors of Accounting, Economics, and Business Administration with concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Financial Services, and Global Business Studies to choose from at Millsaps. The Else School of Management recognizes that a student’s time and money are of high value. They allow students to complete both their undergraduate business degree and their MBA in just five years.

Else also offers master’s degrees in Accountancy and an Executive Master of Business Administration. The Traditional MBA offered at Millsaps has classes that meet weekly in the evenings during the 12-36 month program. Two years of work experience is preferred, and international study is available as an option in Merida, Mexico, or London.

In contrast, the Executive MBA meets on alternating weekends during the 16-month program. Seven years of managerial experience is required, as well as a letter of support from your current manager. For the Executive MBA, there is also an International Seminar in Merida, Mexico, that is not optional. ELSEWorks (Entrepreneurs. Leading. Stewarding. Excelling.) is an entrepreneurial program run within the Else School of Management. The program focuses on Academics, Business Development, Social Entrepreneurship, and Commercialization for students concentrating on Entrepreneurship within to BBA degree. ELSEWorks pairs students with companies and gives them real-life experiences and internships to apply what they learn in the classroom in an interactive learning setting and see the benefit of the outcome.

Student Life

At Millsaps College, about 86% of students live on campus. There are a variety of amenities available, including a large library, a seventeen-million-dollar Campus Life Complex with a physical activities center, expanded student center and student plaza. There are also computer labs with internet and library access, photography darkrooms, email, research and language labs, rehearsal halls, a writing center, and more. Residence halls on campus come in a variety of forms, fitting whatever kind of rooming situation you may be looking for. Fraternity and Sorority life are very active on campus.

Many scholarship opportunities are available for graduate students, including the Coca-Cola Minority Scholarships, Coggins Scholarship, Dean’s Scholarships, ELSE Scholarships, Jeanes Scholarships, Reed Scholarship, and Scott Schild Endowed Scholarship. All of these are merit-based, and many also take into consideration students’ participation in campus activities and organizations.
