Education

The professors are passionate about sharing their decades of industry experience with students. On average, students rate the faculty a 4.39 on a scale of 1 to 5. MSU is a gem for students seeking a small, affordable business school with professors who care about their success.

Bachelor’s degrees are awarded in the areas of Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems, Economics, or General Business. Students majoring in economics can specialize their degree with a concentration in agribusiness. Graduate students can earn a Master’s of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting or Energy Management. Students who select the Accounting concentration will be well prepared for the CPA exam. This highly esteemed MBA is 33 credit hours and can be completed within two years. This degree is very affordable and costs even less when completed on-campus.

Student Life

MSU promotes learning beyond the classroom through student business organizations, internships, academic research, and growing the local economy with the Dillard College Small Business Development Center. The Celebration of Scholarship is an annual event where students and faculty can present major research findings. Students can travel to London for the British Studies Program, spend two weeks in Germany for the International Summer School, brush up on their Spanish through the Spanish for Business study abroad in Spain, or complete a Global Health and Wellness May mini in the Caribbean.

Business organizations on campus range from honor societies to clubs, such as the MSU Accounting Society, the Association of Information Technology Professionals, and the Finance Management Association. The MustangsHIRE page is a great resource for students seeking an internship, but students are also welcome to find an internship on their own.

Scholarships are also available based on merit, for military personnel, and graduate assistantships. Out-of-state students can also receive a tuition waiver that allows them to pay the same rate as in-state students. U.S. News and World Report lists MSU among the 10 Public Schools with the Cheapest Out-of-State tuition.

Online Programs

MSU offers several undergraduate and graduate programs online. The Dillard College of Business Administration gives the option of completing its MBA degree on-campus, completely online, or in a hybrid format.
