MidAmerica Nazarene University began its journey to educating students with five buildings and less than 300 students. They now have over 20 buildings and serve almost 2,000 students each semester. Money Magazine and U.S. News and World Report recently ranked the University among the best colleges in the nation. Their mission is to be “a transformative university that nurtures Christlike community, pursues academic excellence, and cultivates a passion to serve.” Students serve in various ways, like hosting on-campus blood drives, adopting non-profit organizations, and raising money towards humanitarian projects like a hospital in Guatemala.

Education

The School of Business strives to build ethical and competent business leaders within a variety of industries. Students just beginning their studies can complete their Associates of Arts degree at an accelerated pace of only 18 months. Bachelor’s degrees are offered in Organizational Leadership or Business Administration, and master’s can be earned as either an MBA or MS in Management. Both graduate degrees can be completed either on-campus in Olathe or fully online.

Student Life

MNU is located in Olathe, Kansas, on 105 scenic acres. Over 60% of students live on campus with a choice of 9 resident halls. The campus also boasts ten academic buildings and the 40,000 square foot Bell Cultural Events Center. The Career Services Office supports business students as they move towards graduation with assistance like mock interviews, career assessments, job fairs, and a student mentoring program. The Mabee Learning Commons includes the campus library, Academic Success Center, Career & Life Calling Office, Tech Help Desk, a coffee shop, and the Mabee Computer Lab. Students can enjoy many extracurricular activities such as theatre productions, student government, improv, choir, intramurals or varsity athletic teams, or worship teams.

Off-campus there are a lot of ways to keep busy as well. The University is just 20 minutes from Kansas City, where it is easy to find opportunities for fun and work. If students venture into the city, they will find museums, unique restaurants, concerts, movie theatres, and professional sports teams.

Online Programs

The online MBA program at MidAmerica Nazarene is a 100% distance program. Participants still build strong relationships due to the cohort model that allows students to progress with the same group from the start of their degree through graduation. The program is fully accredited by the ACBSP and sets students on track to graduate in two short years.

A Global Immersion Experience counts as an elective credit for this diversified degree. The two-part course includes an online elective class along with an overseas trip. Destinations include China, Israel, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Czech Republic, or India. The trip is meant to allow students to examine the impact of spiritual, social, educational, and economic influences on individuals and society.
