Located in the vibrant city of Raleigh, North Carolina, Meredith College’s School of Business is accredited by AACSB International, an honor attained by only 5% of business schools worldwide. Meredith’s School of Business has an extensive history of preparing graduates for successful corporate careers with majors in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics.

Originally founded as a women’s college by North Carolina Baptists, they now include men in their graduate programs. The School does still hold tight to its original values of integrity, intellectual freedom, academic excellence, responsible global citizens, personal development, and religious diversity. The College started in 1891 with 200 students and has now grown to over 2,000. They challenge students to expand their skills, explore their interests, and build on their strengths.

Education

The School of Business offers undergraduate degrees in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Human Resource Management and Marketing, Economics, and Hospitality Management. The Career Toolkit integrates professional readiness skills into the base curriculum of the undergraduate business programs. Courses cover essential tasks such as resume writing, cover letters, and job search strategies.

Events like the Business Attire Fashion Show, career fairs, and networking opportunities that place students in contact with employers and alumni, set students up for further success. Internships are also a part of the program giving students an opportunity to put their classroom learning to practice in a real-world setting.

The Meredith MBA offers concentrations in Human Resource Management, Innovation Management, and Entrepreneurship and Family Business. This program is one of the most affordable Master’s of Business Administration programs in the area. It boasts an average class size of 18 and an average completion time of two years.

A Business Foundations Certificate is offered for graduate students to enhance their skills through this four-course program. Classes for the certificate are offered in the evenings and can be completed in two semesters. The Entrepreneurship and Family Business Certificate can be completed through a ten-hour program that includes three entrepreneurial electives and an entrepreneurship “boot camp.”

Meredith also offers an Accelerated MBA program that allows undergraduate students to save time and money by completing their graduate degree in just one extra year (the 4+1 plan). Students complete core business courses during their first three years and then move on to MBA courses during their senior year. These classes count for both their undergrad and graduate degrees. Participants then complete their MBA with two semesters and two summer sessions.

Student Life

Campus involvement is a crucial part of the student experience at Meredith. With over 100 clubs and organizations on campus, there are plenty of ways to participate and make new friends. Business students may be interested in Broyhill Business Fellows, Communication Club, or the Society for Human Resource Management. Residence Halls and on-campus apartments give students a unique opportunity to start their lives and meet new people. Amenities for residents on campus include a fitness center, dining hall, and a student center for relaxing, meeting friends, or eating a quick meal.
