The highly qualified, former executive, industry-leading, and entrepreneurial faculty members, along with the rigorous curriculum, are committed to offering motivation, support, affordability, ethical perspective, responsibility, and innovative thought throughout every degree program.
Students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree can earn a Bachelors in Management Accounting, Data Analytics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Management, International Business, Sport Management, Marketing, Corporate & Homeland Security, or Organizational Management. Accounting students can also participate in the combined bachelors and masters degree program in Public Accounting and be well prepared to take the state CPA exam upon graduation. The Masters in Business Administration degree for graduate students offers optional concentrations in Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Health Care Management, Management, International Business, Marketing, Managerial Analytics, and Organizational Leadership. Graduate students can also earn a Masters in Public Accounting, Human Resource Management, or Organizational Leadership.
Highly motivated and dedicated students can participate in the Honors Program, where they receive additional leadership development and public speaking opportunities. Short-term trips led by faculty and tuition exchange programs exist for business students to places like Austria, China, Japan, France, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Kosovo, the Netherlands, Spain, and Australia.
Some of the many student organizations beneficial for business students include Mavericks Give Back, National Association of Black Accountants, The Accounting Society, Caribbean Student Association, Muslim Student Association, Data Analytics Society, H.E.L.P. Ministries, and Investment Banking Club. Along with participating in student activities, active learning plays a vital role in the totality of a student’s career preparation process. The SoB offers numerous opportunities for students to get their hands on real-world projects and apply the knowledge gained from the classroom. Business students perform consulting projects with real clients, operate a student-run entrepreneurial venture, work on projects in the high-tech trading room on campus, manage an actual investment portfolio, and study international business abroad.
Located in New York, there are outstanding internships with very experienced and top-level companies available to Mercy students. Internships give students a priceless time of learning, growing, doing, and preparing for a successful career. Business students also gain insight into the world of executive business from the executives themselves through the Executive Speaker Series. They share their journey and lessons learned with students both in a large group setting and in smaller group discussions.
Mercy offers a plethora of online degree programs for business students. Undergraduates can earn an online Bachelors in Corporate & Homeland Security, Organizational Management, or Business Administration in General Business, International Business, or Sport Management. Graduate students can pursue an online Masters in Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, or Business Administration with several concentration options.
