The IACBE accredits the School of Business at McKendree University. Students who attend will receive expert instruction from dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to preparing students for success. They focus on instilling values of excellence, purpose, community engagement, responsibility, and lifelong learning. Graduates are confident in their technical, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills and ready to take on the rigorous and competitive world of business.

Education

Undergraduate programs offer majors in Accounting, Business and Professional Writing, Economics & Finance, Human Resources Management, Management, Sport Management, Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. A minor in Leadership Studies is also available. Graduate studies offer a Masters in Business Administration degree with optional concentrations in Cyber Defense or Human Resources Management. On-campus MBA students can attend classes one night per week and finish in as little as 18 months with some online coursework.

Many scholarships exist to help with the cost of tuition, including Community Service Scholarships, John Wesley/Methodist Scholarships, YMCA Student of the Year, United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, Honor’s Scholarship, and the Presidential Scholarship. Students can gain international business knowledge and experience different cultural influences while having an adventure of a lifetime by participating in a study abroad trip. Business students can attend faculty-led short trips to places like London, Ecuador, and Amsterdam, or an entire semester at the Paris Graduate School of Management. There is the opportunity to attend Technos International College in Tokyo, the Irish American Scholars Program at different institutions in Northern Ireland, and a broad array of other study abroad options in other countries.

Student Life

Business-specific student organizations include Phi Beta Lambda (Business Service Club), Sigma Beta Delta, Accounting Club, and the Sport Management Group. Business students can also participate in groups like Student Government Association, Student Ambassadors, Campus Recreation, Competitive Dance Team, History Society, Interfaith Group, MathCats, Gospel Choir, Rotaract, College Against Cancer, and the Mentoring Program. The Center for Faith & Spirituality assists students on their faith journey through programs, worship services, prayer times, mission trips, service opportunities, connections with local churches, and even scholarships and potential employers. The Center for Community Service provides opportunities for experiential learning, community engagement, social justice events, and ways to serve the local and international community.

Online Programs

Several of the accredited business programs are also offered online to give more students more access and the ability to obtain a degree of higher education. Undergraduate students can earn an online Associates in Business Administration or a Bachelors in Business Administration in all of the same majors as on-campus, except Business & Professional Writing, Economics, and Economics & Finance. Graduate students can pursue an MBA entirely online, working through one course at a time. And nurses who have received their Bachelors degree can pursue the online MSN/MBA dual degree to learn the business side of the healthcare industry.
