
For the past 75 years, Loyola University Maryland has served students and the Baltimore business community. The University’s Jesuit business programs are known for their scholarship with impact, purposeful teaching, care for the whole person, and meaningful community engagement.
Within the Sellinger School of Business, over 60 full-time faculty members educate 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students each semester. Sellinger holds accreditation from the AACSB in both Business Administration and Accounting. The School works to uphold five specific learning goals. These include effective communication, analytical and critical thinking, integration of knowledge, ethical leadership, and global awareness. Jesuit principles of ethics, reflection, worldview, and leadership also shape the curriculum and student experience at Loyola Maryland.
Education
The undergraduate business programs offered through the Sellinger School of Business are well-respected. The School reports a 99% placement rate for working full-time or entering graduate school within six months of graduation. Majors are available in top fields like Information Systems, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, and Data Science.
Master’s degrees can be earned with options in Professional MBA, Emerging Leaders MBA, Master’s of Accounting. The Emerging Leaders MBA is a one-year, full-time program with many comprehensive components like site visits, networking events, team-building exercises, leadership training, and career development workshops. Students in the program participate in both international and domestic field experiences at top destinations like Silicon Valley, Spain, Walt Disney World, and more.
Student Life
Sellinger students can take their studies to the next level with the University’s many experiential learning opportunities. International experiences give business students the opportunity to study abroad for a semester or up to a year. Internship experiences can be completed through either a three-hour course option or a one-credit course. Service experiences build character, a sense of community, and social responsibility. There are three distinct options to use service for credit. Students can also join a service organization and commit to one time, weekly, or group volunteering.
Outside of service organizations, there are also many fun campus activities and organizations. OPTIONS is one student-led group that encourages meeting new people and experiencing new things through a variety of off-campus activities at a reduced price on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the school year. The fitness and aquatic center includes a 30-foot climbing wall, an eight-lane swimming pool, a 6,000 square-foot fitness center, group exercise classes, and multiple sport facilities.
Online Programs
Currently, the part-time Master’s of Business Administration at Loyola University Maryland is offered in hybrid and on-campus formats. In the fall of 2020, the MBA program will be available fully online. Courses will be completed in accelerated eight-week sessions and taught by the same high-quality staff as the on-campus degrees. Distance learning students will still benefit from small class sizes and a personalized learning experience. Support services such as mentoring, networking, and career services are all a part of the online program as well. MBA participants can customize their degree with concentrations in Data Analytics and Digital Technologies, Management, Marketing, Finance, or Interdisciplinary Studies.
