Long Island University is truly committed to the entrepreneurial journey. There are eight student-run businesses on campus, as well as an authorized Apple product retailer that is fully staffed by students. Students are completely in charge of the management and daily operations of these storefronts. They also market the businesses to faculty, staff, peers, and the extended LIU Post community. This experiential learning is a priceless tool for those interested in entering into the business world. It looks great on resumes and gives practical experience and great opportunities for networking.

Education

The undergraduate programs available through the School of Business are well recognized. The degrees are accredited with the AACSB, ranked highly by the Princeton Review, and are a part of the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. The BSBA has five concentration options in Finance, International Business, Management Information Systems, Management, and Marketing.

Learning through doing is an important part of all of the degree options. Students have many opportunities to expand their knowledge through integrative programs like LIU-IQ Consulting, The LIU Incubator Space, and LIU-iF: The Student Investment Fund. The Princeton Review ranks the College of Management, which is an extension of the School of Business, as one of the top business schools in the United States. This is partially attributed to the College’s established and prestigious graduate programs. Students can complete their degree in Finance, Marketing, International Business, or MBA.

Student Life

The LIU Post campus is just a train ride from New York City and just a short drive to the beautiful Long Island beaches. A free shuttle service also transports to the local train station and shopping centers. Campus Concierge makes life easier for students through their lending program, which offers umbrellas, calculators, highlighters, notepads, personal products, and more. The Center for Healthy Living provides mental health, wellness, and nutrition services to current students free of charge. Licensed nutritionists, nurses, and mental health professionals are all available to help students as they navigate their personal needs.

Students can hang out with peers with the help of over 70 student organizations, clubs, and teams. Business majors will appreciate groups like the Accounting Society, Financial Management Association, or Long Island Volunteers Club.

Online Programs

The Master’s of Business Administration degree offered at Long Island University Post is primarily an on-campus program. However, they do offer several classes through distance learning in an attempt to accommodate busy schedules. This MBA degree can be completed in as little as one year and includes a cohort style learning environment. A unique aspect of this MBA is that students have the ability to take electives throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
