The ACBSP-accredited School of Business at Lincoln University of Missouri recognizes the necessity of training future leaders. They are knowledgeable in a diverse set of business functions integrated with technology to benefit domestic, international public, private, and nonprofit organizations. It nurtures persistence, drive, challenge, flexibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Excellent business programs, active learning situations, and opportunities to serve others give Lincoln’s business students the building blocks to a successful life and career.
Education
Faculty members bring a wealth of knowledge, scholarship, and real-world experience into the classroom. They teach Bachelors degrees in Marketing, Business Education, Business Administration, Accounting, and Public Administration. The Masters in Business Administration provides options for traditional classroom learning or online. MBA areas of emphasis include Management, Public Administration & Policy, Accounting, and Management Information Systems.
Lincoln helps connect students with several different organizations that offer study abroad and international internship educational opportunities. Its business students are highly encouraged to seek out a chance to gain priceless insights and first-hand knowledge in international business practices and foreign cultures. They can join study abroad in Ghana, Greece, London, and a countless number of other locations.
Several opportunities exist for business students to find financial assistance and income to help fund their education. An enormous amount of scholarships, both merit- and need-based, are available and employment opportunities on-campus and off-campus. University departments hire students, there are federal work-study on-campus jobs where they can ‘earn while they learn,’ and some internships are paid.
Student Life
There is a lot of studying happening with business students, but it is also important to work on learning, personal growth, and service beyond the classroom. This occurs through the Office of Student Activities. It supports leadership development, student organizations, community-building, and citizenship. The Office supports the academic, professional, cultural, recreational, religious, and political student organizations. Business students may be interested in joining Collegiate DECA, the Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society, the Student Government Association, or Net Impact.
Business students have the advantage of visiting real-world companies and seeing, first-hand, their day-to-day functions. They also get to participate in projects that simulate real-life business scenarios. Local leaders in businesses and organizations will regularly visit classrooms to speak with students about their experiences.
Through academic and career support, business students have access to peer tutoring, supplemental instruction, and a variety of career services. Career Pathways takes students through necessary steps, including developing a resume, interview prep, internships, and preparations for graduate school, each year to get them close to their career goal. The Career Center hosts numerous seminars, workshops, and activities that benefit both students and alumni.
Online Programs
Lincoln’s School of Business offers its valuable Masters in Business Administration program online. Students experience the same quality of instruction and programming as the on-campus degree. Online students can complete an MBA in Management or Public Administration/Policy.
