Lander University’s College of Business helps students develop their skills as problem solvers and communicators. Graduates of the business school will learn how to examine the world around them and see how they fit into it. They can also expect to hone the necessary leadership skills that will advance their careers in the future. The College of Business’ mission is to provide an applied business education so graduates may be prepared for successful professional careers or go to graduate school. The business school delivers results through a high level of interaction between faculty and students. Course leaders provide innovative and hands-on learning experiences. Program designers hope to impact the knowledge base of business leadership and the economic health of the area by engaging in scholarly and professional activity.
The College of Business at Lander University is excited to provide a business program accredited by the AACSB International. AACSB accreditation is a remarkable asset to business programs and reflects the business school’s ability to offer a high-quality business degree in a small-school environment. At Lander, students will explore the science and art of business with a faculty that has both practical and academic experience. Through experiential, hands-on learning, business administration students have opportunities to interact with outside speakers, work on real-world problems for real organizations, and gain critical experience through quality teamwork.
One of the school’s excellent programs is the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration that gives undergraduate students exposure to the real world of business. Undergrads get interaction with successful alumni, companies, business owners, and not-for-profit and government organizations. Access to guest speakers, internships, and the chance to network with business people in a social environment are also a part of this degree.
The many aspects of business can’t be explained or experienced solely within the academic walls of a classroom, so Lander’s business students are given ample opportunity to put their knowledge to the test in the real world. Business students gain first-hand experience in small and large industries and businesses through project-based internships approved by Lander’s campus-wide Experience Your Education program. Global Learning is a high priority as business administration students can also take advantage of Lander’s many global learning opportunities, including exchange and study abroad programs with universities in Asia and Europe.
Lander University’s Center for Online and Innovative Learning’s mission is to coordinate, provide, and promote quality control for all forms of innovative and online learning at Lander University. The business school offers training and support for every type of class offered at Lander. Conventional courses that support traditional teaching and the school’s Blackboard Learning Management System are all covered within this strategy. The University now offers a fully online, 30-credit hour Master of Science in Management (M.S.M.) degree. Graduates of this distance degree will have a solid foundation in the many aspects of Quality Management, including quality improvement, process management, quality control, supply chain management, and quality policy.
