The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University-Purdue University- Indianapolis is a preeminent business school located in Indiana’s capital. The rich history of this business school dates back to 1830 when the first political economy class was offered at Indiana College, which has since become Indiana University. The business program has flourished and is nationally recognized in the 2020 U.S. News and World Report listing as 9th Overall among Best Part-time MBA Programs. Additionally, in 2015, Bloomberg Businessweek named the Indianapolis MBA #1 for Academic Quality.

Education

Kelley’s undergraduate students can earn a degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management. The International Studies co-major can be added to any of the degrees. Students within this program are highly encouraged to participate in study abroad to gain exposure to foreign markets. The Honors Program is available for students who always go the extra mile and offers benefits such as Kelley Indianapolis Honors Housing, academic conferences, networking opportunities, and field trips.

Graduate students can pursue the Evening MBA, the Business of Medicine MBA, or a Master of Science in Accounting or Taxation. The Evening MBA is a part-time, two-year program that offers majors in Management and Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. With individualized career coaching and self-assessments built into the program, students gain career clarity and are prepared to transition from the classroom to C-suites. The Business of Medicine MBA program provides physicians with management principles that can be applied to the medical field to improve patients’ experiences. The curriculum can be implemented in hospitals and clinics to significantly cut the cost of healthcare. Accounting students have the option to enroll in classes part-time or full-time, and may even be able to earn up to three credit hours for their work experience. The challenging curriculum in this program also primes students for success on the CPA exam.

Student Life

Kelley’s S.o.B. is comprised of approximately 1,200 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. Indianapolis has been rated among the top 10 cities by Forbes, and students have easy access to internship sites and business networking opportunities. Through the I-Core program, undergraduate students work on semester-long projects with some of the local Indianapolis businesses to create new products or services. Kelley Indianapolis Career Services can learn about internship opportunities at the IUPUI Fall Intern Fair or land their dream career at the Indiana Means Business Career Fair. Students can also take part in short-term study abroad programs to Germany and Switzerland to learn about globalization and management. The Kelley Ambassadors program lets students develop leadership skills through mentoring, attendance at alumni events, and community service. Students can also ensure their voice is heard through joining the Kelley Indianapolis Student Government.

Online Programs

Physicians can learn alongside their highly accomplished peers in virtual classrooms through the online Business of Medicine MBA program. This program includes on-campus weekend residencies, featuring networking events on Fridays and workshops and guest speakers on Saturdays. Students interested in entering the business industry may also obtain a 21-credit hour Business Foundations Certificate fully online.
