Georgia Southern University is comprised of three campuses: Statesboro, Armstrong campus in Savannah, and the Liberty Campus in Hinesville. GSU has been recognized by The Princeton Review as one of the nation’s most eco-friendly universities. U.S. News recently ranked GSU among the top universities in the categories of Social Mobility, Online Bachelor’s Programs, and as a top National University for 2020. Additionally, in 2019, they ranked the Online MBA among the top in the nation. The College of Business is prestigiously accredited by the AACSB. Several scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding students who interview during the Southern Scholars Showcase and Scholars’ Day.

Education

When students earn a Bachelor’s degree in business from GSU’s COB, they are taking the first step in the right direction towards an exciting business career. The Bachelor of Business Administration is offered in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management with an emphasis in Logistics or Operations Management, Management, or Marketing. The Economics and Supply Chain Management degrees are also offered at the Savannah campus. Graduate students can earn a Master of Business Administration at the convenient Savannah location. This accelerated program can be completed in just 15 months by attending classes two nights per week. The Master of Accounting degree is designed to prepare students for a CPA career. The Ph.D. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management closes the gap on the increasing need for qualified candidates in this specialized field. Professional certificates include CPA, CMA, CFE, CFF, Ethical Leadership, Fraud Examination, Forensic Accounting, Taxation, Applied Economics, and Enterprise Planning Resource Certificate.

Student Life

Business students can build an impressive resume’ through competitions, internships, and study abroad programs. The Parker Business Scholars is an elite group of 20 students, who receive specialized support, such as internship placement assistance, company visits, invitations to the distinguished speakers’ series, and additional professional development. In 2019, a team of logistics students took home first place at the National IANA Expo Competition. The COB has partnered up with the Georgia Ports Authority to host the first-ever IANA Applied Research Competition. Students wishing to study abroad can attend a short trip, such as the eight-day Business Abroad: Portugal experience, or elect to spend a full semester in a foreign country. The Annual Professional Development Day features The Eagles Sales Showcase and the Logistics Roundtable, as well as networking opportunities with sponsor corporations. Students can become involved on campus through 25 business organizations, such as the MBA Association, Southern Hospitality Executives, National Retail Federation Student Association, or Student Center for the Public Trust. Entrepreneurial-minded students will find a wealth of resources through the Business Innovation Group. BIG consists of the Center for Business Analytics and Economics Research, the Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership, and the Small Business Development Center.

Online Programs

The Master of Business Administration, Master of Accounting, and Master of Science in Applied Science can all be earned fully online. Each of these programs is 30-credit hours and can be completed in approximately 21 months.
