Frostburg State University’s College of Business focuses on offering exceptional experiences inside and outside the classroom. In 2017-2018 the COB was recognized as a Business College of Distinction. It encompasses four departments; Accounting, Economics, Management, and Marketing and Finance.

This AACSB accredited school features a unique 2+2 Exchange Program with China University of Mining and Technology. Accounting students can earn their bachelor’s degree by spending two years at each university, opening the door to global learning. Frostburg also partners with Vanung University in Taiwan for the Hospitality Management program. Students who are interested in touring the university may do so in person or through the unique virtual reality experience using their phone and a cardboard pair of glasses.

At the bachelor’s level, degrees are offered in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics. Business Administration students can enhance their degree with a career-focused concentration in Finance, General Management, Global Business, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Each program consists of core courses, concentration courses, and business electives that complement the students’ concentration area. Accounting students can gain hands-on experience through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

A combined Accounting/MBA degree is offered to students who earned their Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Frostburg. The bachelor’s combined with the MBA is a total of 153 credit hours. Students who completed a degree at another university and earned CPA licensure may earn credit by exam for two courses, therefore only needing to complete 30 hours towards the MBA.
