
Eckelkamp College of Global Business and Professional Studies is a forward-thinking business school composed of the Business Administration and Fashion Merchandising departments. The curriculum focuses on a global perspective, but is also flexible, so students can tailor it to their goals. The 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio creates the perfect atmosphere for intimate classroom discussions and for professors to devote personal attention to ensure students’ success. The business school’s ACBSP accreditation is recognized by employers as a sign that graduates are prepared for the boardroom.
Education
Bachelor of Science degrees can be obtained in Accounting, Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, and Sports Management. Business Administration and Marketing students can designate a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Management, or Social Entrepreneurship. Undergraduate students can also add a minor in Business Administration, Marketing, Social Entrepreneurship, or Sports Management.
Graduate students can take their career to the next level by earning a general Master of Business Administration or an MBA in Accounting or Applied Business Analytics. A Master of Science is offered in Accounting or Supply Chain Management, and a Master of Management and Leadership is also available. MBA students have the ability to add a concentration in Accounting, Administration, Management and Leadership, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management. The following graduate certificates can also provide the boost needed to secure a promotion: Management and Leadership, Project Management, Social Entrepreneurship, or Supply Chain Management.
Student Life
Students are able to gain real-world business knowledge through experiential learning, such as internships with Boeing, Walt Disney World, Merrill Lynch, and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, among many other well-known companies. Fashion Merchandising students have opportunities to attend fashion events in Los Angeles and New York City, as well as shadow industry professionals. Fashion students have interned with Buckle and Charlotte Russe Headquarters and also helped organize local pop-up shops. Students can connect with these companies and several others through the annual career fair.
Some of the unique leadership opportunities available to students include the GOLD Leadership Program, the Disney Leadership Institute, and the Women Mentoring Women program. Students who achieve the criteria set by the GOLD program will present a leadership development portfolio outlining how they have made a difference during the Senior Legacy Symposium, and receive a special GOLD graduation cord. The Disney Leadership Institute is open to students who are sophomores and juniors. They will attend classes on campus, prior to traveling to Disney World for a four-day intensive leadership training. Following this training, they will return to campus to serve in various leadership capacities. Other student organizations include Enactus, First Leaders, Griffin 101 Leaders, and Student Government Association.
Online Programs
Undergraduate students can have the classroom brought to them through the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration offered via Fontbonne Online. Graduate students wishing to enroll in an online program, have all of the same degree choices as on-campus students. Many courses are offered in an accelerated eight-week format. Students will be expected to interact with peers through discussions, as well as complete individual and group projects.
