Florida International University is a highly ranked research university. FIU was established in 1965, but has made tremendous accomplishments for a young university! In fact, FIU was the youngest college to receive a Phi Beta Kappa chapter, a prestigious academic honor society. The internationally recognized AACSB accredited College of Business is consistently recognized as one of the best business schools in the world.
Additionally, the COB is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants as well as being accredited by CAHME. The College of Business is comprised of the Landon Undergraduate School and the Chapman Graduate School.
Education
Students can choose from more than 280 programs through 23 academic schools and colleges.
Students in Landon can earn a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, and International Business. Minors offered to undergraduate students include Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, General Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Professional Sales, Project Management, and Social Media, and E-Marketing Analytics.
Chapman Graduate School features a variety of MBA programs to fit your schedule and goals, including options such an International, Healthcare, Executive, Flex, Online, Weekend, and four different locations to choose from. Students can also earn a PhD in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Business Analytics, Management and International Business, or Marketing, or a Doctorate in Business Administration. Classes are taught by world-class professors, who have been recognized for their research.
Student Life
Over 55,000 students attend annually, making FIU the second-largest school in Florida and the fourth-largest in the United States. More than 300 clubs and organizations allow students to get involved and meet their peers, offering opportunities for growth, improvement, and ways to make a difference. Kayak through the mangroves of Biscayne Bay Campus, hike through the lush 300 plus acres of modesto A. Maidique Campus or compete in the Walk on Water race as an architectural student at Green Lake where students build unique flotation devices in order to make their way across the lake to Green Library. There’s a cash prize for the winner and a thorough soaking for those that are left behind.
The COB places an emphasis on international business through corporate partnerships and collaborations. Students can study abroad or participate in an exchange program in more than 60 countries. Scholarships are available for students interested in faculty-led trips. International students can also earn a dual-degree by completing a combination of coursework from an educational institution in their home country and attending FIU. FIU students can serve as international student ambassadors to help international students with their transition. Graduates of the business programs are highly sought out by Fortune 500 recruiters.
Online Programs
The COB offers five out of its seven BBA majors online through the Landon Undergraduate School. These include Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Logistics, and Management. Several graduate degrees are offered online through the Chapman Graduate School. These degrees include Professional MBA, Healthcare MBA, Master of International Business, Master of Science in International Real Estate, Master of Science in Human Resource Management, and Master of Science in Marketing.
