The Lutgert College of Business is one of the few business schools to provide a comprehensive PGA Golf Management degree. This program is four and a half to five years in length and includes in-depth classroom courses, internship opportunities, and the ability to apply for PGA membership upon graduation. Graduates of this recognizable degree currently report a 100% employment rate.
Education
The business programs at Florida Gulf Coast University carry esteemed AACSB accreditation. Their Bachelor’s of Science degree is available with the concentrations of Accounting, Analytics & Informatics, Computer Information Systems, PGA Golf Management, Resort & Hospitality Management, and many more. Those working towards their master’s degree can earn a Master’s of Science in Accounting & Taxation or Information Systems & Analytics. There is also an MBA that depending on student location, can be completed fully online. Graduate assistantships are open to qualified students who are enrolled in a full-time course load. This program is open to both in-state and out-of-state students and covers the in-state part of tuition, and a bi-weekly stipend for 20 hours of G.A. work per week. In order to be considered for this beneficial program, applicants must submit a one-page paper explaining their qualifications for the opportunity, career goals, and how the internship will help reach those goals. Two letters of recommendation are also required.
Student Life
FGCU provides its students with many opportunities to build a community with their peers. Many cross majors but there are also several clubs and organizations specific to the Lutgert C.o.B. The Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization, Global Business Brigades, and IMA Student Chapter are just a sampling of the business organizations. Professional organizations that may appeal to business students also include Computer Science Club, Wandering Eagles-a traveling club, and FCGU FPRA- a group that works to promote local education and networking opportunities in public relations and marketing. Lutgert students also have the option to participate in International Study programs. The University partners with business schools in France, Spain, and Germany. Participants in the program are able to study abroad at their same tuition rate while gaining real-world global experiences. The office of Professional and Career Development has a mission to “Broaden student business perspectives and enhance student career marketability through a steady stream of relevant and empowering educational interventions.” This resource is invaluable to students looking to gain resume-worthy experience as they complete their degree.
Online Programs
Lutgert College of Business’ online Master’s of Business Administration program is accessible in a completely virtual format in 20 states. Concentration options include Accounting/Taxation, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems, and Management/Leadership. Core classes within the program cover a variety of topics such as business strategy, data-driven decision making, global supply chains, and strategic leadership.
