Education
There are merit, need, and talent-based scholarships that business students can apply for to aid their educational pursuits financially. Undergraduates can acquire a Bachelors in Accounting or Economics. They can also obtain a Bachelors in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship, International Business, Marketing, Economic Consulting, Finance, and Management. Graduate students have several degrees of choice. There is a STEM certified Masters in Management with concentrations in Corporate Communications and Organizational Analytics. It can be completed in 10 months full-time or part-time with flexible schedules and completions. The Masters in Accounting has concentrations in audit and tax and can be completed in an accelerated, full-time, or part-time format. The Masters in Business Administration is part-time with a flexible schedule that can be completed at your own pace.
Love highly encourages its students to partake in an international trip to gain a global business perspective and experience cultural differences. Business students can study abroad in the Pacific Rim or be an exchange student in Ireland. They can also study the Elon way with Elon faculty and students at an Elon Center in Florence, Shanghai, London, or Dunedin. Being a part of the International Partnership of Business Schools, Elon offers dual degree programs at schools in Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
Student Life
A crucial part of the educational experience is getting involved in student organizations, co-curricular activities, and experiential learning opportunities. Business student organizations include Alpha Kappa Psi, American Marketing Association, Economics Club, Beta Gamma Sigma, Project Management Club, International Economics Honor Society, Sigma Iota Epsilon, Real Estate Club, and Women in Finance.
Some of the ways to experience learning are through internships, research projects, case competitions, consulting with real clients, networking with executives, and service-learning activities. The Business Fellows Program provides extensive leadership and professional development opportunities, scholarships, consulting experiences with real clients, help managing a portfolio worth $300,000, and a Global Study grant. The grant helps complete a Study USA or a study abroad trip to places like Boston, New York, Argentina, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, or Mexico. The Honor Roll for Social Responsibility gives students opportunities and recognition for completing volunteer service hours for a community activity or a nonprofit organization.
Elon has several centers that both enhance the knowledge they have gained in the classroom and provide the opportunity to grow in problem-solving skills, teamwork, professionalism, and career preparation. Business centers are the Chandler Family Professional Sales Center, the Doherty Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, the Porter Family Professional Development Center, the William Garrard Reed Finance Center, and the Center for Organizational Analytics.
