Eastern University’s College of Business and Leadership intertwines the elements of practical, foundational business education with the strong values of a Christian faith. Their mission is “to prepare students to serve God in the global marketplace.” Focusing on commitment, excellence, integrity, reason, leadership, entrepreneurship, appreciation of knowledge, and skills in critical and analytical thinking, the College of Business and Leadership will prepare students to succeed in life and in impacting change on a global scale. They are a candidate for the ACBSP accreditation.
Undergraduate students can pursue a Bachelor in Accounting & Finance, Chemistry-Business, Entrepreneurial Studies, Business Administration, Economic Development, and Marketing. Graduate students can earn a Master in Health Services Management. There is a Fast-Track Master in Business Administration in both Management and Health Administration, where students meet for class one night a week. A dual-degree option exists where both the Master of Divinity and the MBA in Social Impact can be completed together, in just four years. The Master of Divinity portion is completed on-campus. A unique program, the FastPass, allows qualifying students to graduate in only three years with taking two free summer classes online each year. Faculty members lead a Business Internship Program to give students local, national, and international internship opportunities. For students to receive an international and multicultural educational experience, the university offers study abroad programs in places like Australia, Jerusalem, Belize, Lithuania, Malawi, Ireland, Spain, and Denmark. There are also international exchange programs in Seoul, Korea; Auckland, New Zealand; and Langley, British Columbia.
Student life can be just as important outside as it is inside the classroom. Student business organizations such as Enactus, Delta Mu Honor Society, and American Marketing Association help business students engage with each other and grow together. To best prepare students to enter into the business world after graduation, the Center for Career Development assists in determining the talents God has given each student, figuring out what to major in, networking with professionals, researching careers, preparing for interviews, and finding internships and jobs. The Center for Community Engagement aims to help students find ways to serve their community. Placing a high priority on faith in God and his calling to serve others, the Office of Faith & Practice “integrates faith, learning, character development, and outreach,” through Chapel, Service Learning, Mission Opportunities, and Campus Ministries.
