
Eastern New Mexico University’s College of Business focuses all of its programs around the student and how to advantageously set them up for personal and professional success and a life full of learning. Through innovative technology, consultation, training, high-quality research, excellent academics, business collaboration, and positivity, the college can achieve its mission. They also regularly assess their programs to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. The ACBSP accredits all of the business programs, except for the Bachelor of Business Administration in Personal Financial Planning, which is working towards the accreditation.
The College of Business is housed in the same facility as the Department of Psychology and Duplicating Services. It has a 250-seat room, the Becky Sharp Auditorium, which hosts many media programs, seminars, and classes. There are also computer labs, smart classrooms, offices for faculty, and two courtyards on the property.
Education
Undergraduate students can receive a Bachelor in Business Administration in Accounting, Agricultural Business, Applied Economics & Finance, Personal Financial Planning, General Business, Hospitality Management, Information Systems, Management, and Marketing. Graduate students can receive a Master in Business Administration degree with an optional concentration in Accounting. Financial assistance is provided in many ways, including student campus jobs and scholarships for in-state freshmen, out-of-state freshmen, transfer students, current students, graduate students, and military/veteran students. To help further the educational experience and receive hands-on training, the College of Business connects students with internships with business like the Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado, La Casa Family Health Center, and the United Way of Eastern New Mexico. These internships allow students to gain experience in areas like Growth & Expansion, Blast Camp/Front Desk/Facilities, Convention Sales, Public Relations, Communications, and Social Media.
Student Life
For business students to utilize all that the university has to offer, they can join clubs and organizations like the Accounting & Finance Club, the ENMU Business Student Club, the Delta Mu Delta Gamma Omega Chapter Business Honor Society, or the ENMU Student Veteran’s Organization. There are also four Multicultural Affairs groups for African-Americans, Hispanics, International Students, and Native Americans. Alumni can take advantage of the ENMU Alumni Association to help continue their networking and former student connections, and also connect with current students to help in their transitions and opportunities. The Student Research and Creativity Conference is for the entire university, and business students can take advantage of this platform to show their projects and practice presentation, professional, and creative skills. The Student Success Center is a colossal resource providing career services, advisors, online tutoring, writing and support services, and learning communities. The Student Government Association is the vessel created for students to give feedback and ideas to impact the College of Business experience.
Online Programs
Through the office of Distance learning, every business degree program offered at the university is available online. Other online resources available to help students succeed include specialized library services, help with writing papers, free tutoring services, and counseling.
