The College of Business at East Carolina University has offered an AACSB-accredited business program since 1967. The COB is the largest in the state of North Carolina. Each year they educate more than 5,000 students through a variety of undergraduate and graduate-level programs. There are more than 350 scholarships available with a total of nearly $700,000 in funds, giving many opportunities for students to find additional ways to help fund their degree. Courses are taught by highly qualified instructors, including 11 endowed professors with extensive business experience and publications in leading research journals. All degrees include a unique emphasis on leadership development, entrepreneurship, communication skills, and professionalism.

Education

East Carolina University students can earn a variety of degrees through the School of Business Administration including a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with concentration options in Accounting, International Business, Management Information Systems, and Marketing. A Bachelor’s of Science in Hospitality Management can be obtained with specializations in Food and Beverage Management, Conventions and Special Events Management, or Lodging Management. And a Bachelor’s of Science in Entrepreneurship is also an option. The BS in Entrepreneurship is a distinct program offered through the Miller School of Entrepreneurship; the only named school of entrepreneurship in North Carolina. Established in 2015, this school has become a regional center for students to take what they are learning into their communities through strategic partnerships and co-curricular activities. Think, Value, Communicate, and Lead is the mantra of the School of Business Administration. They implement these values in the Leadership and Professional Development Curriculum, which includes courses such as Strategy First, Professional Development and Ethical Leadership, Experiential Leadership: Teams in Action, and a Leadership Capstone project.

In addition to high-quality undergraduate degrees, there are also four master’s degrees and eight graduate certificates that can be completed through the School of Business Administration. A few of the certifications offered are Management Information Systems, Marketing, Project Management, and Finance. Graduate-level degrees are Master’s of Business Administration, Master’s of Science in Accounting, Master’s of Science in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality, and MD/MBA.

Student Life

Along with core business classes students are also put face to face with potential employers and given annual opportunities to travel both nationally and abroad. The Career Center provides students with tools for success and personalized coaching for career readiness. Counselors assist with everything from internship opportunities to helping students identify strengths and professional goals.

Online Programs

Online Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration can be completed at the student’s convenience with specializations in General Business, Management, Management Information Systems, Operations Supply Chain Management, or Marketing. These programs are 100% distance learning and allow students to complete their degree at their own pace while still maintaining other responsibilities.
