
The Breech School of Business Administration carries AACSB accreditation, and their mission is simply to prepare “ethical leaders for the global business community.” This top-notch school of business has a strong liberal arts foundation with a commitment to excellence in business education. The Breech S.o.B.A. was founded in 1957. The building which houses the school is there because of the financial donations of a Drury alumni, Ernest R. Breech. Ernest Breech, who held the head leadership position at Ford Motor Company for many years, as well as at Trans World Airlines. At the beginning of his business career, Ernest held positions at Yellow Cab Company, General Motors, North America Aviation, and also Bendix Aviation. He is known today as a model corporate manager.
Education
For undergraduate students at Breech, many degree specializations are offered, including Accounting, Cyber Risk Management, Economics, Finance, International Business, Management, and Marketing. Business minors are also available for students in the areas of Business Administration, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Cyber-Risk Management. An MBA is offered both face-to-face and online, starting in fall 2019. Students can also earn an MBA plus Cybersecurity Leadership Certificate in 36 credit hours. An MBA at Drury is completely customizable and can be completed in one, two, or four years. Courses are offered in the evenings, and the program includes a week-long international business trip to either China or Greece. For students who need it, Drury offers an MBA Boot Camp that runs five weeks and fulfills all MBA requirements.
Student Life
Drury University boasts a “close-knit campus community full of opportunities.” The campus resides right in the heart of beautiful historic midtown Springfield. There are many opportunities to get involved, whether it’s through volunteering, leadership organizations, or Greek life. The University has many strong connections with non-profit and corporate organizations within the community. An internship from Drury may even land you your first job after graduation. On-campus housing with an interactive community is available to full-time students. According to research, retention rates are higher for those who live on campus, and students who live on campus are more likely to participate in activities and clubs. This can allow them to make more connections with not only peers but faculty and professors who could be instrumental in finding their first job after graduation.
Online Programs
Breech’s online Master of Business Administration program offers live online classes via interactive video conferencing. This allows for real-time instruction and interaction with peers and instructors from whichever location is most convenient in the evenings. Students are also able to take elective classes online with no set schedule of meetings. An online Bachelor of Business Administration degree is also an option. This degree gives students a good overall business foundation. Students can add a Project Management Credential through an online program as well.
