Concordia University-Irvine is a beautiful Lutheran private school nestled in one of the safest communities in the nation. Students can earn a world-class business degree through the School of Business and Economics. Business is the most popular major at CUI. All of the business programs are fully accredited through the IACBE, and the School is the first one to gain the new accounting accreditation. According to U.S. News, Concordia is among the Best Regional Universities in the West for 2020. Students are educated by forward-thinking professors who are recognized as experts in their field, like Professor Chatani, who is a successful published author and also holds four professional certifications: CPA, CFE, CISA, and FCPA.

Undergraduate students can select a Business or Economics major. Business majors will personalize their degree with a specialization in Accounting, Business Data Analytics, Business Economics, Finance, Healthcare Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, or Sports Management. Students are able to practice their business skills through collaborative community projects and internships.

The Master of Business Administration helps students unveil their leadership capacity. The face-to-face small cohort format of this program leads to strong bonds both inside and outside of the classroom. Professors are real business practitioners who arrive at classes after leaving the office. These strong business connections in Orange County and Los Angeles create beneficial professional networks. The well-rounded curriculum for this 40-unit program allows students to choose eight electives. Some of the electives available include Big Data, Business Franchise Solutions, Human Resource Management, and Real Estate Development. Students will unleash their creativity during the capstone project, which requires the completion of a business project or original business plan. This flexible program offers six start dates per year and can be completed in as little as 18 months.

Student Life

Students eager to gain firsthand business experience will find engaging opportunities through the Center for Global Business and the Center for Public Policy. Summer internships and year-round study abroad programs in Africa, Canada, Europe, Mexico, the Middle East, and South America help students see through the lens of another culture. Students who are self-claimed adventure seekers will fall head over heels for the Around-the-World Semester. Over the course of one semester, students in this program will travel to 10 countries and participate in daily team service projects with ministry organizations. Four themed living-learning communities bring students together over shared interests and values. Each LLC features special events, celebrations, dinners with professors, and a faculty in residence. Students can also compete in the Cornelius Business Plan Competition, join Enactus or the Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, or chat with the Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Marketing students work with local businesses through the Institute for Strategic Marketing.

Online Programs

Students who already possess an AA can complete the online Business Administration and Leadership Bachelor’s degree in just 19 months. This dynamic program features live sessions with professors and peers every other week. The remainder of the assignments can be completed anytime prior to the due date.
