Casper College was established in 1945 as Wyoming’s flagship junior college. It remains a two-year college today, offering a wide array of Associate of Science, Associate of Business, and Associate of Applied Science degrees, as well as certificates. Casper has transfer agreements for several programs through partnerships with local universities. The School of Business and Industry is fully accredited through the ACBSP. The entire campus serves about 2,900 students, and features a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, allowing professors to tailor their instruction to better meet the needs of each individual student. During the 2018-2019 school year, nearly $13 million was awarded in financial aid. Upon graduation, many SoB students continue their education, while others enter entry-level careers as market researchers, financial advisors, and sales representatives.

Education

The School of Business and Industry places students on a path to an in-demand career field. Students seeking to enter the workforce as soon as possible can gain essential job skills by earning a certificate in just one school year. By spending an additional year in college, students can obtain an associate’s degree, bringing higher salaries or the opportunity to transfer credits and complete a four-year degree. Students can study Accounting and Bookkeeping, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Construction Management, Cyber Security, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Leadership and Organization Management, Management, Office Management, and Retail Management and Merchandising. The Retail Management Certificate is endorsed by the Western Association of Food Chains. The curriculum is a solid mix of business methods and industry-specific courses. Professors incorporate technology, team assignments, and hands-on learning to create engaging student-centered courses.

Student Life

The overall campus experience is enhanced by student participation. Students can strengthen their leadership skills while at Casper by participating in the National Society of Leadership and Success. This prestigious organization provides a step-by-step plan designed to transform students into influential leaders. Upon completing all steps, students will be awarded a leadership certificate. Additionally, students receive many benefits, such as scholarships, access to an exclusive online job portal, and invitations to attend special on-campus events. Serving on the Student Senate is another great resume builder. The Office Management co-op program places students with local employers, so they can apply skills learned in class to a real-world office setting. Several students have been hired for full-time positions after their co-op concludes. Students can also learn about the latest features of Microsoft 2019 by attending self-paced courses at the Flex Lab.

Online Programs

Students can earn a business degree or certificate without ever having to leave the comfort of their homes. Nearly all programs offered on-campus are also available through a hybrid or fully online format. Hybrid programs will be at least 70% online but may require students to give presentations or take exams in person. Online programs are offered at a special affordable rate. These programs feature the same curriculum, professors, and resources as on-campus programs, but at a time that works for busy students. Classes are conducted via the Moodle platform and consist of a variety of assignments, quizzes, and discussions.
