Carroll University “provides a superior education, rooted in its Presbyterian and liberal arts heritage, and draws upon its Christian tradition to prepare all students for vocational success, lifelong learning, and service in a diverse and global society.” Almost 70% of the 3,500 students who attend Carroll are from Wisconsin. The average class size is 21 students with representation from 29 states and 26 countries. An impressive 100% of students receive some form of financial assistance towards completing their degree.
Education
There are many relevant majors for business students at Carroll University to choose from. Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, and Business Economics are just a few of the options available. Hands-on experiences drive the curriculum. Innovation, creativity, problem-solving, and drive are all integrated into coursework and conversations between students and professors.
Students working towards their master’s can earn their MBA in Business Analytics, Business Management, or Healthcare Administration. The program consists of 11 courses that can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis.
Student Life
There is always something to do on the Carroll campus. CU@Night is a free program that brings activities like game nights, DJs, movies, comedians, and musicians to campus every Friday and Saturday night throughout the semester. There are several big events during the year that encourage everyone on campus to participate. Spring Fling, Carroll’s Got Talent, and Alcohol Awareness and Education Week are just a handful of the offerings.
Adjusting to college life can be difficult. The Carroll Six Week Challenge is designed to help new students make friends, have fun, and find their place on campus. Fun activities are planned like trivia nights, headphone disco’s, and a Yell like Hell! Pep rally. The challenge offers many weekly prizes, as well as several grand prizes at the end of the six weeks.
Recreational sports also make it easy to stay active and busy. The department of RecSports focuses on the “seven dimensions of wellness.” Because of this, they offer programs that assist students in the integration of states of physical, occupational, environmental, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social wellness. A few of the services available include bike and equipment rentals, group fitness classes, outdoor recreational activities, special events, and intramural sports teams.
Online Programs
The Master’s of Business Administration program from the Carroll School of Business is a hybrid program that couples the convenience of online learning with the benefits of on-campus collaboration. Classes can be streamed live via video cam or watched afterward. There are two to four in-person meetings for the entire semester. These sessions are designated for group discussions, guest speakers, presentations, and networking. Professional development opportunities are also tied in through both modalities and cover topics such as forecasting or crisis leadership.
