Education

Undergraduate students can transform into the leaders they desire to become by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Financial Economics, and Marketing. The curriculum is broad-based, covering everything you’ll need to be successful in the contemporary business world from business law to management information systems. Students graduate highly employable with a portfolio that displays their growth and experience gained over the course of four years. Undergraduate research, internships, and real-world capstone projects ensure students are career-ready on day one of their professional careers. Professors are well-connected with the business community in Ohio and shape the curriculum after the skills corporations are seeking in their employers.

The Capital Master of Business Administration gives students a major advantage, showing potential employees that you have what it takes to successfully lead others. This 36-credit hour program kicks off with MBA Foundation courses. Upon completing these, students may choose advanced courses in Finance, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, or Marketing. Each course meets one evening per week during the fall and spring semester for 14 weeks, and twice per week for seven-week summer sessions. Students can speed through this degree in just two years or may work at a pace that fits their commitments. This program is far more than remarkable lectures; students will work with professors who can help them get their foot in the door at some of the most reputable firms in Ohio.

Student Life

Internships bring business to life for students and create job connections that frequently turn into full-time employment opportunities. Students spend ten weeks interning for companies such as The American Cancer Society, the Department of Defense, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and the State of Ohio Auditor’s Office. Business organizations present exciting new challenges for students and a place for them to establish their own support group. Students can find leadership opportunities through L.E.A.D., Student Government, and the Women’s Empowerment Alliance.

The Spring Leadership Conference challenges students to grow into the best leader they can be, and several leadership awards ceremonies are also held to honor those who have stepped up to the challenge. The MBA Ambassadors Council hosts several networking events for current students to meet alumni. The Capital Bonner Leaders program provides four years of financial aid to students accepted into this elite program. Bonner leaders must volunteer 280 hours per school year, attend leadership development activities, and complete a full-time internship with a nonprofit in the summer. Students in this program also have the option to attend an international service-learning project.
