California State University, Sacramento’s College of Business Administration is the largest producer of business graduates in the region. In fact, one in 20 adults who live in Sacramento is a graduate of Sac State. According to U.S. News and World Report’s 2020 rankings, Sac State is ranked 55th in the Regional Universities West category. Sac State was also ranked among the top 500 universities nationally by Forbes in 2019 and Times/Wall Street Journal in 2020. The COB is comprised of six academic departments: Accounting, Marketing and Supply Chain Management, Management and Organizations, Information Systems and Business Analytics, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, and Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate. Business students have the opportunity to apply for 50 scholarships and receive $150,000 in annual scholarships.

Education

The rigorous Bachelor of Science in Business Administration allows students to customize their degree with a concentration. Concentration options include Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Management, International Business, Management of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior, Management Information Systems, and Marketing. Additional minors include Real Estate and Land Use Affairs and Risk Management and Insurance. Students can also earn a certificate in Advanced Business Studies or a professional International Accounting Information Analyst certificate. The Business Honors Program is open to high performing students who wish to complete an advanced curriculum with business integration courses.

Graduate students can earn a traditional MBA, Executive MBA, International MBA, or the unique IMBA Singapore. The traditional MBA offers concentrations in General Management, Finance, Business Analytics in Healthcare, or Entrepreneurship and Global Management. Students may choose to enroll in one to four classes each semester and will attend one evening class per week for each course. The EMBA is a 15-month program, with the first year consisting of core courses and elective and the remaining three months devoted to an individual application project. This program meets on Fridays from 3-7 PM and on Saturdays from 8 AM-2 PM, with the exception of the third weekend of each month, which is online. This all-inclusive program provides students with meals, networking events, and an international trip. Students who are interested in working globally can pursue the 12-month accelerated International MBA. Concentration options for this program include International Management, Information Technology, Management, and Finance. Students in the IMBA Singapore program will meet for their eight core courses through four-day residencies and will complete their four electives online, with a program duration of 18 months.

Student Life

Students at CSU Sacramento have the chance to learn about the business organizations they can join each fall at Biz Fest. The MBA Networking Association, MLK Business Resource Group, Student Investment Fund Club, and Women in Business are just a few of the diverse clubs available. The honor societies offered are Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Golden Key Honor Society. Students can learn more about companies through the Business Pathways Networking Event, which features a key-note speaker luncheon, roundtable discussions, and networking fair.

Online Programs

The Master of Science in Accountancy is available online and can be completed in approximately 18 months.
