California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, or Cal Poly Pomona, is one of the Best Public Universities in the West. It is “nationally ranked for helping students achieve economic success.” They offer an “affordable, life-changing education” and are located less than 30 miles east of Los Angeles. The College of Business Administration at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona is an AACSB accredited college, which means they rate in the world’s top 5% of business schools. The CBA’s mission is to provide business programs that cultivate success through discovery, innovation, experiential learning, and diversity. The college has high-tech facilities in new state-of-the-art buildings. The learning environments are modern and interactive.

Education

The College of Business Administration offers undergraduate programs in the areas of Accounting; Computer Information Systems; E-Business; Finance, Real Estate and Law; International Business and Marketing; Management and Human Resources; and Technology and Operations Management. Graduate programs at CBA include Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Information Security, and Master of Science in Accountancy. The MSA degree is offered in both a one and traditional two-year program, while the MBA is completed in evenings, weekends, and hybrid formats. The MSIS degree is only available in a two-year, evening course format. It is geared for people wishing to pursue a career in IT Auditing, Information Security and Computer Forensics. A special scholarship for the first year MSIS students is available upon application to the program.

Student Life

At Cal Poly Pomona, they offer a First-Year Experience Program in which students learn how to have a successful first year at college. The course provides a broad overview of opportunities available to students, majors, and their possible career paths after graduation. Students engage in innovative learning opportunities, community service projects, field trips, and other activities. Student organizations provide a way for students to form new relationships with peers and mentors that can be beneficial for their future careers. CBA offers many different clubs and organizations, including the Finance Society, Management Information Systems Student Association, Pi Sigma Epsilon, and Students With An Interest in the Future of Technology, just to name a few. Many scholarships are available for CBA students based on merit, financial need, or both.

If living on campus appeals to you, then the new Sicomoro and Secoya residence halls are perfect, housing 980 students. Each eight-story building has on each floor, two large community living rooms, a small informal living room, a study room, an end of the hallway study nook, and floor to ceiling windows looking out on the San Gabriel Mountains and Chino Hills. Nearby is the new Centerpointe dining facility which seats 680 students and replaces the old dining hall built-in 1960.

Online Programs

Through their partnership with Ed2Go, Cal Poly Paloma is offering online classes with the College of the Extended University. Many different certificates and career training programs are offered in the areas of Accounting, Administration, Finance, Marketing and Sales, Operations, Project Management, and Small Business.
