Jack C. Massey College of Business’ mission is to “provide you with an innovative learning experience, both practical and discipline-based, by faculty who have industry experience and globally-recognized academic credentials.”

Belmont University is located in Nashville, Tennessee. While this location gives way to many business connections, Travel and Leisure Magazine also recently recognized the city as one of the Top 20 Friendliest Cities in the world. This sense of community also plays an important role in the day to day student life, academic studies, and interactions with peers.

Education

The Bachelor’s and Master’s of Business Administration programs at Belmont University carry elite AACSB accreditation. The Accounting major and Master’s of Accountancy also hold this distinction. Each semester over 800 undergraduate students work towards earning their degree. There are 12 majors in areas like Hospitality & Tourism Management, Social Entrepreneurship, International Economics, and Marketing. All programs have a strong focus on experiential learning and include innovative programs like Business Hatcheries, Student-Run Ventures, and a variety of student organizations.

The campus’ prime location also leads to many internship opportunities in top fields, including healthcare enterprises, professional sports teams, financial institutions, technology companies, and more. This blending of hands-on learning and content proves to work well with a 94% placement rate after six months of graduation.

For graduate students, there are four distinct program options with options in Professional Master’s of Business Administration, Accelerated Master’s of Business Administration, Healthcare Master’s of Business Administration, or Master’s of Accountancy. The Accelerated MBA is created with recent graduates who have no or very little professional work experience. Students complete the program with a cohort by meeting four nights a week for a total of 12 months.

Experienced professionals will appreciate the flexibility and thoroughness of the PMBA. Participants generally complete this degree in two years but can finish in only 15 months. This degree is well-rounded and requires a one-week international residency.

Student Life

As a degree requirement, all Bachelor’s of Business Administration students of the Massey College of Business are required to complete an international business class. In order to put their learning into action, students are also encouraged to study abroad. Participants can choose from several lengths of stay from two to three weeks or up to an academic year. Top locations include Scotland, Tokyo, Germany, and France. These experiences make a great pairing to the many on-campus learning and socializing activities available. There are 15 business-specific student organizations and honors societies. Enactus, American Marketing Association, and Beta Gamma Sigma are just a few of the options available.

Nashville is known for its rich music scene. The campus integrates this through over 500 student performances each year.

Exercise is an important aspect of maintaining wellness. The Department of Fitness and Recreation organizes group fitness classes, intramural sports, personal training, outdoor equipment rental, and more.
