
The School of Business at Belhaven University places a priority on the world view of Christianity and interlacing its values throughout every degree program. The small class sizes allow the expert faculty to provide specialized instruction and personal attention. The high-quality curriculum prepares students to face the highly competitive business marketplace. While enhancing their business knowledge and theoretical principles, students grow in integrity, character, honesty, and an ethical mindset. The School of Business carries the IACBE accreditation.
Education
Undergraduate students can pursue an Associates in Business or a Bachelors in Business Administration with an optional concentration in Entrepreneurship. They can also study for a Bachelors in Accounting; Health Administration with optional concentrations in Systems Management or Public Health; Management with an optional concentration in IT Management for Business Leaders; or Sports Management. Graduate students can earn a Masters in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Leadership. The MBA offers optional concentrations in Finance, Leadership, Health Administration, Sports Administration, Human Resources, and Public Administration. The MPA has an optional concentration in Human Resources. The areas of concentration for the Masters in Leadership are Human Resources, Public Administration, and Ministry. To obtain a degree, many students need financial assistance. They can take part in the many scholarships and federal grants available. Study abroad trips, mission trips, and international internships are available to give students an incredible multicultural educational experience. Local internships, to give students real-world experience, are highly encouraged as well.
Student Life
Student development happens both inside and outside the classroom. Belhaven offers a variety of ways to fully develop every student through ministry, outreach, student organizations, events, recreation, leadership opportunities, chapel, counseling, and the fitness center. Business students can get involved in numerous student groups including the Asian Students Association, Belhaven Future Healthcare Leaders, Chess Club, New Music Society, Christians United for Israel, Loving Broken, Phi Beta Lambda, and The Round Table. Specific outreach campus ministries include the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Reformed University Fellowship, and Elevate small group Bible study. Leadership and professional development can happen by being a part of the Belhaven Activities Team, International Peer Partners, Resident Assistants, Peer Leaders, and the Belhaven Leadership Council. LifeQuest is a plan that helps students discover their strengths, personal calling, and provides academic advising to help business students figure out the correct educational path. The Center for Career and Calling implements career coaching, student job connections, career preparation workshops, and career fairs.
Online Programs
In order to assist working professionals or anyone who cannot attend classes on campus, the School of Business offers most of its business degree programs online. This includes the Associates in Business and Bachelors in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, and Health Administration. The additional concentration for the Bachelors in Management only offered online is Criminal Justice. Every business Masters degree is offered online, with all of the concentration options.
