
Barton College is highly honored by U.S. News and World Report and the Princeton Review. The School of Business is also well respected and holds accreditation with the International Accreditation Council for Business Education. Ninety-eight percent of Barton students receive some form of financial aid. Those wishing to pursue additional funding for their degree can also apply for a variety of grants and scholarships that are sponsored at the federal and state level. Small class sizes and an 11:1 student to faculty ratio make it easy for students to connect and grow as they work towards their degree.
Education
Students can earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration or Bachelor’s of Arts in Business. The B.A.B. is offered through Accelerated Professional Programs. This degree strives to give students a well-rounded understanding of business with courses such as Principles of Financial Accounting, Legal and Ethical Issues in Business, and Principles of Marketing. Writing skills, oral communication, critical thinking, and research skills are also addressed through this program. The B.S.B.A. also covers these skills but additionally allows students to work with faculty to create an individualized program of study. An area of emphasis includes 18 additional hours and can be completed either inside the School of Business or within another department. Courses like New Venture Creation, Social Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Design are also available with this degree plan.
The Barton Strategic Leadership MBA is 16 months long and includes international travel. Students will work in a cohort model as they complete classes, including The High-Performance Leader, Innovation and Change, and Strategic Leadership and Decision Making. This impactful degree can also be paired with an undergraduate degree in the College’s intensive 3+2 program, which gives students the opportunity to complete their Bachelor’s of Business Administration and an MBA in five years.
Student Life
There are five unique residence halls on-campus to make getting to class a breeze. The Hamlin Culinary Center serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Those looking for a late-night hangout or snack can go to Blue’s Late Night, which regularly serves innovative dishes. A market is also available for snacks, drinks, and grab and go meals. The Student Health Center makes sure that students are healthy, both physically and mentally, through free services with Physician Assistants and Licensed Counselors.
Online Programs
A Bachelor’s of Arts in Business can be earned completely online at Barton College. Participants in this distance degree will take courses on relevant topics like Marketing, Finance, Information Systems, and Management. Instructors for the online B.A.B. are industry leaders with experience teaching in a virtual environment. Students will learn through discussions, simulations, group projects, and more. Enrollment is open in August, January, or June, making any time a great time to get started!
