Austin Peay State University “strives to push students beyond the textbook and help them explore their passions, in order to empower our graduates to compete in a global economy.” The campus is located on a site that has served the educational needs of the county for more than 200 years. Clarksville is Tennessee’s 5th largest city and has the youngest population in the state. With an enrollment of close to 12,000, Austin Peay is Tennessee’s fastest-growing state university. They support the military and are the state’s largest provider of educational services for military-affiliated students and families.

In recent semesters more than 1,000 students enrolled in business programs at APSU. There are four majors for the Bachelor of Business Administration program offered through the College of Business. Choices include Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or Management. A Master’s of Science in Management is available completely online. The program is geared towards adult learners who have already received their bachelor’s degrees. Students can graduate in two years or as little as one, by utilizing fast-track course offerings.

Student Life

There are steps taken to ensure that all students have what they need to succeed at APSU. Diversity events, family weekends, and an annual unity celebration are just a few of the ways that the University goes above and beyond. The Adult, Nontraditional, and Transfer Student Center is dedicated to serving students who may need additional guidance as they begin and complete their college experience. The Little Govs Child Learning Center provides on-campus childcare for students, faculty, staff, and alumni of APSU. This resource allows parents to know that their children are well cared for by certified staff as they work towards their higher education goals. There are student organizations like College Possible, which connect recent graduates with new students to help them navigate college life in the areas of personal well being, academics, and finances.

Students stay active at the $11 million Foy Fitness and Recreation Center, which features a 1/10 mile indoor walking track, 26 foot-climbing wall, and 3-court gymnasium. The Simmons Fitness Center also offers a cardio training space, group fitness studios, and a cycling studio. In 2008 an outdoor pool was also added to the recreation space.

Austin Peay State has many fully online options for distance learners. Beginning students can complete their associates in Management Technology.
