Education
The Dayton School of Business gives undergraduate students the opportunity to earn their degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, or Sport Management. Minors are also available in Marketing, Sport Management, Economics, Accounting, Business, and Entrepreneurship. Class sizes generally range from 12-25 students making it easy to build strong relationships with professors and peers. The practical applications of what is being studied is an important aspect of all courses. This makes an easy transition from the classroom to real-world work situations.
Student Life
One of the ways that students can get involved on-campus is through Adventure Leadership. The program is dedicated to leadership development in its participants in outdoor settings and with educational tools as support. An Outdoor Challenge Course has helped individuals and teams build their communication skills for over 20 years through a variety of obstacles suspended high in the trees of a beautiful hardwood forest. The Archways is a pre-orientation adventure trip for new students that includes camping, rock climbing, canoeing, hiking, and more. Students who enjoy these activities can even take their interest to the next level by choosing a major or minor in Adventure Education and Leadership.
Online Programs
The Dayton MBA is a 100% distance degree that can be completed in less than two years. The curriculum for this online Master’s of Business Administration is designed to improve critical thinking, strategic decision making, and organizational proficiency. Building personal integrity, character, leadership, and ethical decision-making skills is also an important aspect of this degree.
There are four distinct delivery options that make it easy to find a degree that works for any schedule. The traditional MBA has students complete the majority of coursework online but culminates with a group capstone project. The Nonprofit Management track follows this same set-up but offers a focus on skills relevant to the nonprofit sector. Students who would like to complete their undergraduate and graduate degrees at an accelerated pace may choose the 4+1 MBA, which allows participants to begin taking MBA courses during their senior year. For students who may have more personal obligations and wish to work on a part-time basis MBA at Your Own Pace program sets students up to take one class per semester and complete their degree in four years.
