Regis University is a private, 4-year Roman Catholic, Jesuit school located in Denver, CO. The school was founded in 1877 by the Society of Jesus as Las Vegas College in Las Vegas, NM. In 1887, Las Vegas College merges with Sacred Heart College and moved to Morrison, CO. In 1921, the school changed its name to honor Saint John Francis Regis; the school achieved university status in 1991. The compact, 90 acre campus features a blend of traditional and modern architecture among green spaces including Boetther Commons (the academic quad), all amid the majestic Rocky Mountains. Notable alumni include Focus on the Family CEO Jim Daly and NFL Hall of Fame member Arnie Herber.

Academic Programs

Regis University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission and offers Bachelor’s degrees, post-baccalaureate Certificates, Master’s degrees, post-masters Certificates and Doctorates in over 50 programs, including many online degrees as well. The University is comprised of five colleges: Regis College, College of Contemporary Liberal Studies, Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions, College of Computer and Information Sciences, and the College of Business and Economics. Noted for Teacher Education, Nursing and other Healthcare programs, the largest programs on campus are in Healthcare and Business. Per the Mission Statement, “Regis University educates men and women of all ages and faiths to take leadership roles and to make a positive impact in a changing society. Standing within the Catholic and United States traditions, we are inspired by the particular Jesuit vision of Ignatius Loyola. This vision challenges us to attain the inner freedom to make intelligent choices. We seek to provide value-centered undergraduate and graduate education, as well as to strengthen commitment to community service. We nurture the life of the mind and the pursuit of truth within an environment conducive to effective teaching, learning and personal development.”

Student Life

There are approximately 4,500 undergraduate students enrolled in Regis University, many of whom live on campus among the 5 residence halls and living communities. The University sponsors over 25 clubs and student organizations, including club sports and intramurals. For the varsity athlete, the blue and gold Rangers, led by Roaming’, field teams in 8 sports and participate in NCAA Division II competition. Calendar traditions include Thursday Thrills, Snow Week, Ranger Week and Senior Life Last Call.
