Academic Programs

Ohio Northern University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission and offers Bachelor’s Degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates, Master’s Degrees and Doctorates in a multitude of programs. The university is also noted for its Pharmacy, Nursing, Teacher Education and Music programs; the largest programs on campus are in Business, Engineering and Healthcare fields. There are no online degree programs, although the school maintains a sister relationship with Dakook University in Seoul, South Korea. Per the Mission statement, ONU is “[i]nfluenced by a unique history and an enduring affiliation with the United Methodist Church, Ohio Northern University’s mission is to provide a high quality learning environment that prepares students for success in their careers, service to their communities, the nation, and the world, and a lifetime of personal growth inspired by the higher values of truth, beauty, and goodness. To fulfill this mission, faculty and staff engage with students so they can learn to think critically, creatively, and entrepreneurially, communicate effectively, gain practical experience, solve problems collaboratively, and act as ethical and responsible members of a global community.

Student Life

There are over 2,800 undergraduate students enrolled in Ohio Northern University, most of whom live on campus in one of the 15 residence halls. Additionally, there are over 200 clubs and student organizations including club sports and intramurals. For the varsity athlete, the orange, black and white Polar Bears, led by the mascot Klondike, field teams in 11 sports and participate in NCAA Division III competition.
