New York Institute of Technology’s School of Management is committed to forward-think curriculum and producing business innovators. This AACSB accredited business school strives to become the leader in private business education for the greater metro NYC region by offering unparalleled support for students.

The school has launched a campaign, “Creating new TEMPOS… in Global Business Education.” TEMPOS prepares students for 21st-century careers through integrating Technology, Experimental education, international Marketplace, Professional enrichment, career-Oriented programs, and Student advancement. The contemporary learning facilities feature a simulated trading floor and an on-campus business incubator.

Education

Students can launch their business education with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. Bachelor of Science Business Administration students can select a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing, Small Business, and Entrepreneurial Studies, Accounting, and Hospitality Management. Management majors can select a minor in Service Excellence and Guest Satisfaction; Sustainability in Lodging, Food, and Tourism; or Wine, Beer, and Spirits Tasting, Sales, and Service. All new students are required to take Business Orientation, which is an overview of all of the opportunities they have available throughout their college experience and how to maximize these experiences.

Graduate students can earn their Master’s of Business Administration in Management, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management, or an EMBA. A Master’s of Science in Human Resource Management and Labor Relations is also available. The EMBA is a unique program that focuses on the role China plays in the global economy, and students will earn a Business Administration Certificate from a Chinese university. The partnerships with Chinese universities have contributed to over 3,000 NYIT business alum currently living and working in China.

A graduate or professional certificate is also offered in Human Resource Management. Other professional development certificates include Essentials of HR, Paytrain Fundamentals, Paytrain Master’s, and Treasury.

Student Life

The Triple Platform of Excellence program helps students build an impressive resume by focusing on professional enrichment, experiential education, and student advancement. Professional enrichment seminars give students a professional virtual presence through social media pages and an online portfolio with work samples. Through experiential education, students can study abroad in France, Germany, India, the Netherlands, or Singapore, or provide consulting services for a local business. The student advancement component focuses on professional relationships through membership in student organizations, mentoring, and serving on the Student Advisory Board.

Students have a wide array of research and real-world opportunities through the five academic centers: Entrepreneurial Studies, Human Resource, International Business, Risk Management, and Global Center for Hospitality Management. Prior to graduation, students can develop a business plan, gain professional experience with global corporations, and tour top companies around the world. Previous field trips have included Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Museum of American Finance.

Management students can compete in the annual Fed Challenge hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Dreamlab is a unique program that creates a virtual outline of potential business ideas for students based on a series of personality assessments.
