Though where and when it originated, no one is exactly certain, one of the most enduring myths is that if a student steps inside the Ogden Circle before their appointed graduation day, they will not graduate on time. Each year after Hampton’s induction ceremony, freshmen students gather around the circle with their candles, taking great care not to cross the fateful line.
