The ACBSP-accredited School of Business at Greensboro College strives to provide a solid foundation in the ‘in-demand’ fields of both accounting and business. Faculty members are thoughtful, insightful, and well-equipped to instruct and mentor with excellence that helps develop knowledgeable, skillful, confident, and aspiring leaders. Business students also take advantage of the strong connections Greensboro has with the surrounding business community. The programs help enhance analytical, critical thinking, communication, and decision making skills while encouraging determination, dedication, integrity, faith, and making a difference in the world.

Education

Every student experiences small classes and one-on-one attention from professors, which intensifies the educational impact. The School of Business focuses on undergraduate studies that lead to a Bachelors in Accounting or Business Administration & Economics. To spread an understanding of business fundamentals throughout the College, the SoB offers minors in Accounting, Business Analytics, or Business Administration & Economics to students in any major. To help fund their education, students can apply for numerous scholarships, including the Achievement Scholarship, Transfer Scholarships, Federal Grants, the North Carolina Need-Based Scholarship, the “Stay Local” Scholarship, and the Business & Professional Women of North Carolina Scholarship.

Business students need to gain international business insight as part of their educational process. Greensboro provides exchange programs in London at Southlands College of Roehampton University, in Germany at the Ludwigsburg University of Education, and in Ireland through the Irish-American Scholars Program. Many other study abroad opportunities are available along with scholarships like the Center for International Studies Scholarship for Gilman recipients.

Student Life

Campus involvement is highly beneficial to the development of business students. Through student organizations, students can grow in leadership and organizational abilities, meet people, and help shape their future. Groups include the Student Government Association, The Collegian Newspaper, Student Council for Exceptional Children, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Honors Organization, ENACTUS Entrepreneurship Club, Student Activities Board, and Delight Ministries. Also, involvement in the programs and activities of the Sankofa Center for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion can expand a business student’s cultural perspective, leadership capacity, and ability to impact social change.

Not only do students gain an incredible education inside the classroom, but they also grow exponentially outside of the classroom through many different opportunities. Greensboro helps students find internships with successful organizations. There are many ways to have hands-on experiences, build a professional network, and conduct business projects in the community. The Global Communications Center is an excellent resource to help guide in developing communication skills through speaking, writing, and digital media consultations and services. Through this Center, students attend workshops, compete in contests, form reading groups, hear from guest speakers, can join the Fellows Program, and experience connections with community partners.

Online Programs

Adult students can have busy schedules that include work, kids, family, and other responsibilities. That is why Greensboro offers an online degree-completion Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership & Management degree. This degree is for those who have previously acquired some credit hours.
